I wanted to go somewhere not too far from Tokyo for a few days break while on a mainly work related trip. Garden Villa was perfect for a short break. I caught the Super View Odoriko (special train service with big windows so you can see the scenery) along the coast. The daughter of the family that owns the hotel,...

What a view looking down over the property to the bay. Room was small but had all we needed and most importantly the beds were comfortable and the room very clean. The time in the Onsen's was a real treat. Toshiro and Yukiko Takarada could not of done more to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, suggesting places to...

We stayed in this family owned hotel during the off season. Although off season the weather was still stunning. The hotel is built on a cliff, overseeing the ocean. Although it is mainly rock, the cliff is covered with small trees and plants. The hotel has 10 rooms. We were upgraded to the family cottage, which is located a little...

Great place to stay for value. I went in the off season looking for a place to stay during the BlackShip Festival. This place fit the bill! It is an older place but very clean with a fantastic staff that made me feel like I was part of the family. Although the pool was not open yet one of the...

We stayed for one night while touring Izu peninsula. The owner and his daughter couldn't have been nicer, even taking us to and from the local town and ordering our meal for us. The hotel is in a lovely position and has every thing we needed. Breakfast was a treat!

We booked 3 nights which is enough to see sights in this area, rooms are dated and small but the service was well beyond normal. The Owner took us around in his car to wherever we wanted to go and gave us guided tours on the way. Also he picked us up from the station when we returned. The food...

The place is a traditional Japanese family home located on top of a cliff with a wonderful sea view. The first day ambience was unwelcoming. There was no one at the reception and after ringing the bell twice and a 15 minutes wait, we decided to walk around in the back garden to see if we can find someone. A...

The hotel itself is a lovely, roomy and tidy place. We were looking for somewhere to stay near the beach - this hotel is perfectly located (a 5 minute walk to Shirahama beach and a short bus drive to Shimoda town). The food was incredible (scrumptious dishes kept coming in and we had a banquet to ourselves every single time)....

Super located on top of a cliff and close to a famous surf beach nearby. Very nice onsen facilities, both with view on the pacific. The place overall is a bit run-down, during our 2 stays the pool was totally green, probably because of previous typhoons. However the place is superclean and the highlight of the day is the breakfast....
