A group of us went to the Castle Hotel to celebrate our friend's "big" birthday and it couldn't have been nicer. Staff were so friendly and attentive, and the lunch was first rate. Especially liked the way we were allowed to linger and not rushed through.

Just loved our stay here. A lovely treat from my Sister-in-law and her husband to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. 7 in our party and we had a fabulous time. Arrived mid-afternoon after the kitchen had closed but we made a quick trip to the local Tesco and had a lovely picnic in the bar where they provided plates, cutlery...

I have not stayed in the hotel, but have enjoyed many excellent bar meals and more formal dining in the dining room. The ambience is that of a Scottish country house without being pretentious. The bar is comfortable and snug and the menu choices are mainly based around local produce. On my most recent visit, the staff were friendly and...

We've been to the Castle Hotel several times and my wife and I were very disappointed. Now that the bridge is closed its very difficult to find and the directions on the web site don't get you anywhere close until you've driven around the town for an hour. We did the same thing on our last visit a few years...

Beautiful hotel and well located. My friends and I were there for a wedding close by, the hotel was nice, the room was a generous size, breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of variety. The shower has very little water, a bit hard to wash our hairs and the vanity had no hot water. Overall good but a big expensive.

Had soup and sandwich here for £5.95 approx. In Bar. Service was a bit slow . It a hotel , not an old castle. But weddings held here. It reminds me of pittodrie house hotel. Hot croissants were on menu and lots of other items. A nice range of choice.

Six of us visited thus wonderful restaurant for a meal. Four adults and two little ones - the service was some of the best I have ever experienced. The food was amazing, try the surf and turf, cooked to perfection. Stuart the manager was very knowledgeable on the origins of all of his meats and vegetables. He also gives a...

Return visit to the area to visit relatives. Once again we had a very peaceful stay, very comfortable rooms and an excellent menu in both the bar and the restaurant . Really enjoyed the tortilini, for the main meal for both nights as it was that good. What makes this such a nice place to stay however, are the staff....

I stayed for a few days as part of a work assignment. All the staff were so kind and helpful - from graciously working around late cancellations when my schedule changed to offering alternatives when I had to leave too early for breakfast and loan of tools to mend my ailing laptop. The food is amazing (esp. risotto). Overall, it...

We couldn't fault our experience. The staff were all very welcoming, polite and friendly. The variety and choice of food was delicious and amazing. The setting was just perfect for a Sunday Lunch. The owner was very friendly and was great at keeping children occupied. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will be back.
