This hotel has a long history as it's shown in appearance of the building but maybe that's why the hospitality of the staffs are so great that you won't be aware how shabby the building is. Stayed here for 3 days while attending a conference. The rooms as is your typical Japanese room. No bed. Traditional tea making set. There is a small coffee table and two chairs in front the window. I stayed in this Moriaki Ryokan Ikaho (伊香保 森秋温泉旅館 ) as part of a conference activity on Oct 24, 2014. It is a typical Onsen Ryokan (Japanese Hot Spring Hotel) with grass mat (榻榻米草蓆). A nice ryokan to stay, with private open-air bath in some rooms, large enough for couple. I stayed there two times, generally the service was very good.
