We stayed here for two nights as part of our 10 day small group tour of Scotland (Sept. 23-24, 2016). The first night there was a driving rain storm. But by the next afternoon it had cleared letting us see what a beautiful location this is. Our room was on the upper floor. There is a large window that let...

My husband and I had not booked anything in advance and were stuck late on a Saturday trying to find somewhere. After a series of rejections based on a busy season we drove down the lane to Balmacara somewhat ready for a no. But we were met with a ray of sunshine (Norman) who told me they had a spare...

Our room was on the ground level - very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spotless. Very quiet with lovely views of the loch. Breakfast was served in a glassed in room overlooking the water. Cereals, yogurt, fruits plus a hot made to order option. The young lady who served us also gave us some wonderful advice on...

Great location for visiting the Isle of Skye it was good value with friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean with an exceptionally good breakfast. Would definitely recommend. It was great to be so close to the Eilean of Donan castle too.

I was so looking forward to my stay, we were given an upstairs room, which some had said had fantastic views - they must have been a lot taller than me, I'm 5'4" I couldn't see the loch out of the window, as our room has a skylite window. Also NO HOT WATER, so it didn't matter that the shower...

This is our second visit and we loved it just as much. The owner was there this year and he is a wealth of information. We wanted an alternative to Skye and he recommended a shorter trip that was a bit off the beaten path and beautiful. Also recommended an excellent pub. The rooms are modern and the bed was...

A well planned and badly needed break in Scotland to travel on two of the best rail lines on the planet, what could possibly go wrong? Rail replacement bus instead train to mallaig (well done scotrail, you couldn't find a train driver but you could find three coaches!), cancelled ferry (cal Mac has no ferry for the required tidal range....

I visited with my teenage son 12 months ago. We were so impressed we have just returned with my wife. We stayed in room 3, a downstairs room with a huge double bed, and a separate room with a double sofa bed. The room overlooked the loch, and was really spacious with a small sofa, wardrobe, dressing table and a...
