The location of Balmacara Mains Guesthouse is absolutely perfect. With the loch directly in front of the property and the woodlands surrounding it, the peace and tranquility is beyond compare. My husband and I had Room 3 and our kids were in Room 1. Room 3 was spacious and clean with the added benefit of a small sunroom with a...

My daughter and I stayed for one night during a recent Scotland trip. Beautiful surroundings and views. Room was nicely furnished and the bathroom spacious and updated (although the shower area had some black mold in it...). While we were generally happy with our stay and the breakfast, the place felt somehow impersonal and cold.

Wonderful place with absolutely fabulous service. Everyone was so friendly; the rooms immaculate and the breakfast delicious. The view of the loch was so serene and beautiful with the snow capped mountains. This was a little piece of paradise for us.

I don`t think you could find a nicer B&B anywhere. The rooms and the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast so good [even without the perfect view over Loch Alsh!] We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is in an ideal location...

We enjoyed a very pleasant one night's stay at Balmacara Mains Guesthouse, which is conveniently located between the Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle. The guesthouse is at the end of a 1/2 mile drive off A87, so it's easy to find but still quiet and secluded. We had a great view of Loch Alsh from our room. We...

We were made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived, being warmly welcomed and shown to our room with its lovely views out over Loch Alsh. Breakfast was better than anywhere we've been since, with a great choice and highest quality ingredients. This set us up well for a very long day in the hills. The service was warm...

What a wonderful little B&B with the best location possible. So easy to explore the local area and a beautiful place to return to after a long day walking or driving in the area. Very comfortable rooms, with stunning views over the loch. All of the staff were exceptionally helpful, going out of their way to provide extra information and...

This was my second stay at this little gem of a B&B and it was every bit as good as I remembered! I took a couple of friends this time and the location and luxury of this place ticked all our boxes. The staff were very friendly and we got great advice on where to eat out and after a...

On arrival we were met by Iain and shown to a large and comfortable room (6). The view over the loch was beautiful. Dinner recommendation of The Plockton Inn was much appreciated and the fresh seafood delicious. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. Will certainly return to Balmacara Mains, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Iain.
