Stopped by for one night in between visiting the snow monkeys in Nagano and Niigata City. The train ride in and out were spectacular with the snow covered montains. This was the splurge of our trip and it was worth every penny. We got the room that came with the private balcony onsen. Yes, it was pricey but we regret nothing. Being able to dip into your own onsen bath while watching snow fall around you was definitely an experience to have. The room was spacious and newly furbished...

Indoors: After arrival, I could choose from many different kinds of beautiful yukata to wear. I stayed in a spacious Japanese room without a private bath, but there are also some rooms with attached rotenburo. The onsen itself was wonderfully relaxing, with a pleasant view of a snowy hillside. Clean and quiet everywhere. The food: Paradise for Japanese cuisine lovers!...

Outlook: Modern architecture; our Japanese double room has a private outdoor onsen, which contains distinctive minerals and chemicals, I.e. Sulphur and hydrogen carbonate.
