I have stayed in many hotels and hostels ranging from 1star to 5 stars. I have experienced a lot but this beat it all. We were firstly told we had to check in between 3-4pm. Arriving, we witnessed a line that made us wait for our key for at least 30 minutes. We had two rooms one for the grandparents...

Japan can be very hit and miss. I've paid a lot of money in the past and and ended up staying in some pretty woeful places. Conversely, at times when the expenditure has been limited, I have been pleasantly surprised, as I am now with the New Shiobara Hotel. The hotel is another remnant of the bubble era construction boom....
