The Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort offers a mixed bag of experiences. While the setting and some renovated areas receive praise for their welcoming atmosphere, other parts are criticized for appearing tired and lacking ambiance. Guests enjoy the spacious rooms but some find the decor outdated and in need of maintenance. The location is frequently lauded for its convenience and picturesque setting. However, the value proposition is contentious, with numerous travelers feeling services are overpriced. Amenities like the spa and breakfast are highlights, yet the pool's temperature and cleanliness sometimes disappoint. Overall cleanliness is generally applauded, with the rooms standing out for their tidiness.

Had my Wedding here in August 2023. We had an amazing day from start to finish, every little detail was catered for. Dan the Wedding Organiser was superb going through every detail to make sure everything was just right, and on the day Luke (Master of Ceremonies) and his team who were serving the Wedding Breakfast were absolutely fantastic, the whole day was done with military precision. The suite set up for the wedding was beautiful everyone commented on it. I stayed the night before with my Bridesmaids and the accommodation was superb, large kingsize room with adjoining living space and bedroom. Breakfast was buffet style and was delicious. I cannot fault this venue, staff, accommodation or food in the slightest they could not do enough for us. Absolute 5* Service...Thank you once again for making our day PERFECT 🥰

Anything you wish to ask me please do but will try and describe as much as possible. The hotel itself is ok. The rooms are a bit out dated, carpets tired and look worn with marks on them and the rooms have been refreshed with a basic paint job, but it was obvious and a very strong smell of Gloss paint when we visited. I didn’t bother complaining as the front of house is so grumpy looking and make you feel like they don’t want you there. Please note : this was my personal opinion. The room we were in had a stiff shower tap that was impossible for my kids to use and me or my wife had to assist. The pillow had some coco pops on it and this is during COVID when cleaning has to be spot on. Laura front staff wants you gone quick, doesn’t even listen to what you are saying and this was my main reason to not go back. First impression was bad. One of the worst Hilton’s I have been in and I am a gold member meaning I visit a few. The Hampton in dundee that we came from before put this place to shame and it was half the price. The pool is great and the staff are nice enough there. The steam room is out of action due to COVID but the rest of the facilities are on. It can get busy in there even though there is restrictions to numbers. The max I saw was around 18 people at once around pool area at one time. Breakfast was fine. No issues. The bread is not good apart from that all ok. Nice selection but due to COVID its all one order. Want a crossaint, danish, muffin etc order it and they will bring it out. We had dinner there one night and it was not the best. The service is ok. Fish and chips we had by 2 and the fish was too oily. Actually too too oily. The kids fish and chips looks better but a very small piece. I would say 2 ounce max and then battered. Better to get a full size portion. They also got the bill wrong and made a fuss about it when I corrected them. This place is run like it is going to shut soon. I won’t be surprised if it does.

I stayed overnight recently while visiting friends and family over Christmas and it was super comfortable. The bathroom was slightly dated but I was super impressed with the power shower (I'm fussy with showers!) and it was very, very comfortable overall. The food at dinner was a different class, it was better than my Christmas dinner a few days before at a high end castle! The beef in particular was amazing and delicious and finished to a very high standard - I would have paid a lot more for it in Glasgow, never mind London - where I live. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, the hotel is spacious and comfortable with great food and great amenities. Also the staff really make you feel welcome without imposing.

Dear Sir/Madam
I’m going to start by saying that as a protected emergency worker I have stayed again over 150 nights last year and 5 out of 7 nights per week this year so far in hotels. Some of which have been right here in Glasgow namely the Doubletree at Strathclyde and Central to name but a few. To say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in covid times is an understatement. Let me start with the basics. Specially at the time is this pandemic and certainly at the fringes of a 3rd wave there was no handsoap at all in the room! There were no antibacterial wipes either, the remote control wasn’t disinfected or protected in line with the Hilton policy. The dusting special high level dusting was non existent, the closet is filthy with dust the walls filthy with spillages (which I kindly wiped some away for my own protection)! There was no spoons for coffee, no “do no disturb signs” for the door, there is no thermostat on the wall to regulate temp, rather a “hole” in the radiator cover where one dangerously has to skilfully put his hand to regulate the radiator thermostat (given that I seen a full bud of elderly people I doubt they would be able to figure out the heating scenario let alone able to regulate the thermostat by getting on one knee!!) As a diamond member who’s room was chosen some 12 hours before and allocated accordingly, there was no water in the room either.
By now you are getting the picture that this hotel fall way below the standards for a Hilton let alone compliant with current regulation and or guidelines for Covid. I request the this urgently reviewed before someone dies as a result of catching this deadly virus in your hotel. I am going to make this report available for everyone and send it to as many organisation as possibly to highlight the shortfalls of a “prestige” hotel. You guys have to do better much better than just being in a pretty location but disregarding health and safety let alone customer satisfaction and comfortability.

I regularly use this as a business meeting venue and buy lunches, coffees, drinks etc. Today on arrival, I requested to be able to charge my electric vehicle with all the bags lying empty. As a paying, regular customer, I was shocked at the attitude of the more elderly receptionist who gave me a dirty look and said it was for residents only. Regardless of policy, her attitude was horrendous. My company spend a huge amount in here annually but will be going elsewhere off the back of this as the hospitality industry has many other venues who welcome customers. A simple issue, but dealt with very poorly.

Arrived Friday, asked for a bathrobe for my wife as she was not attending the conference. Reception asked for my room number. I assumed the bathrobe would be forthcoming. Lady Bar tender didn't have a clue could not find me a suitable glass to drink my bottled beer. Breakfast 07.30 sign claimed "Hot Plates" they were cold and wet. Asked for a bathrobe for my wife as she was not attending the conference. Coffee break for the conference luke warm coffee in thermos flasks and insufficient milk. Replacement milk still hadn't arrived by the time coffee break was over. Conference Ball, meal delivered, went to put salt on the fish, incorrect top fitted to salt seller half the contents of salt seller all over the fish. Sunday saw no point in asking for a bathrobe for my wife, as we had to be out of the room by 11.00hrs and conference started at 9.30. Buffet lunch plates were cold and wet, but this time no sign claiming that the plates were hot. Room was poorly lit and the bedside clock could not be set to the right time. Serious dust on the top shelf of wardrobe, hanging rail so close to the top shelf that coat hangers were very difficult to hang on the rail. I always thought that Hilton had superior standards. Not likely to ever return to any Doubletree by Hilton. Cost of staying there for the conference? Answer; a lot more than Booking .com

My husband booked Room 311, a suite with balcony, as a treat for my Birthday which just happens to be on St Valentine’s Day. The room was lovely with plenty of space and even though there was a storm outside there was absolutely no noise, from the storm, in our room. The a la Carte dinner was lovely and the waiter noticed that I had run out of Brioche toast, for my Pate and ordered some more for me. Very attentive and a good attention to detail. Breakfast was lovely too - again, good attention - I ordered porridge and was given a choice of having it made with milk or water. Overall, a lovely visit and I would highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed in room 125 on the ground floor. Main door was auto open sliding which was great, slight incline front carpark to reception. Reception and hallways all very wide and easily accommodated my husbands wheelchair. Fire doors as always are heavy and harder to navigate through but clearly necessary.

Our room was spacious with lovely wet floor shower and separate shower cubicle which was an added bonus. My husbands wheelchair is standard width and he just managed to get through although he did scrape the door thresholds which clearly other users had done as well.

We had to move our bed over towards the window as my husband needs space to have his wheelchair next to the bed for transfer, this wasn't a massive issue as the bed moved across pretty easily. The bed was on the high side which for my husband was a slight issue due to his type of mobility conditions. Lovely big tv and nice view to the outskirts of the golf course behind.

The main areas of the hotel were all level access with the exception of the spa, there is a lift which can be accessed from the bar/grill on the first floor, again there is a lift on the ground floor hallway. The reception/bar/restaurant and outside spaces were all very accessible and spacious and the staff were very helpful. They even took my husband into the swimming pool area (via a slightly outside route) so that he could sit at the side whilst I had a wee dip and swam a few lengths.

On our last evening the wet floor shower wouldn't drain away, this was reported and we were offered another accessible room, as we were leaving the next day and it was already evening we decided to avoid the hassle as my husband could still access the toilet safely enough.

The hotel itself is as you would expect for a Hilton above average prices ie £8 for large pinot, cheaper to buy a bottle at just £17 which I thought was good value. Meals and breakfast all really good quality, book in advance for dinner and breakfast as it is busy.

Certain areas of the hotel did look rather tired and good do with a refresh, ie our door, chair in our room was worn, scrapes on internal fire doors, a powerwash of external upper walls. The main areas were a good spec and both the wheelchair and public bathrooms near the restaurant were great quality and very clean, lovely hand lotions.

This was a last minute treat for my husband and I and was definitely one of the better locations we have stayed at for accessibility.

We booked this hotel as a half way point from a drive down from John o groats towards the midlands.
Everything was perfect and as expected. We booked a double queen which was spacious and exceptionally clean, bathroom was really nice and had a brilliant shower.
Staff was friendly and polite through the stay and cookies on arrival was really nice.
Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice of food and drinks with polite table service.
Hotel is great value for money and location is perfect for a stop off on an exhausting drive
