Staff were lovely. ..food at the pub was great. Was disappointed that my room was not in the hotel and in a separate chalet. The bed was old and the most uncomfortable I have been in. Room was fairly clean

My company normally automatically book me locally with a golf course attached, I don't play golf and have no intention of learning. I came this time at short notice and fancied some img new so booked in to this hotel with no preconceived ideas of castles or grandeur as the price speaks for itself "reasonable". Most of the rooms are...

We have been at the Castlecary House Hotel, the Poachers Bar for a family get together meal. The food we ordered was excellent quality and large portions, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the homely atmosphere. We will certainly return again for the Sunday lunch. Thankyou

We have operated here for over forty years and the external rooms have been there also for the majority. During these years we have not had any issues regarding safety or to make guests feel unsafe as you term. We have 15 rooms in the main building to be correct. Stayed for a week, only managed Breakfast twice due to our schedulings, but was quality, we ate in the Bar every evening, the staff were very friendly, and helpful. Room was clean, decent TV in the room (Twin) Shower cubicle leaked a little, and the shower was a little noisy and low in pressure/heat, otherwise acceptable, nothing to write home...

Having not stayed here for a long time, I thought I'd try once more. The hotel hasn't changed over the years and the rooms are beginning to look a little dated. The room I had was in the main building and it was very spacious. The bed was firm but okay, pillows also okay. The shower however was almost unusable,...

Absolutely brilliant food and extremely inexpensive at £20 per person, considering most places were closed! Steak pie is definitely a must and sticky toffee pudding was an absolutely perfect end to the meal! Service was superb and staff nice and pleasant!!
