This small hotel has an absolutely breathtaking view of the Pacific, caring staff, a lovely infinity pool, fine food and a wonderful relaxing vibe. Our room, which included a sitting room, offered spectacular ocean views on one side and stunning mountain views from the other side (including a great mountain view from the shower). Half or full-day trips to islands,...

My husband I stayed in a king-bed room above the pool. The room was small, but very comfortable and the view overlooking the pool and ocean was divine. The hotel is small and intimate, but did not feel crowded. Expect to take lots of photos...the grounds and view from everywhere is stunning. The food and drinks were excellent, although at...

My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We’ve traveled extensively around the world, and El Castillo has the best service we’ve encountered at a boutique hotel. I realize it sounds cheesy, but we left feeling like we were leaving our friends behind. The staff is truly that...

The place is beautiful with amazing views. Our drink order "3 Vodkas straight up" literally took 35 minutes to arrive. None of the glasses were chilled. Think this is bad.......it gets worse......hummis arrived 30 minutes later .... absolutely terrible...no flavor at all....just ground beans.....calamari appetizer was overcooked and boring.....the entrees were acceptable.....but took an additional 1 1/2 hours. So we...

We had high expectations based on a very favorable personal referral... we were blown away on all fronts. Beautiful area, spectacular views, incredibly friendly and attentive service, wonderful food, all combined with personalized assistance with planning/booking/travel/reservations/etc. We loved every aspect of our stay. Our next visit next year will be our 2nd, but definitely not our last!!! Scott Dinsmore and...

Located in the southwest part of Costa Rica, El Castillo is a retreat from the world and all its hustle. Near the most diverse nature reserve in the country and lots of adventure tourism, it is still so tempting to just sit and watch the sun set over the infinity pool and the waves lap on on beach below. Service...

The views from El Castillo are awe inspiring. Having breakfast outside every morning surrounded by natural beauty was exactly what the doctor recommended to beat the winter blues and for true relaxation. The staff (Gerson, Carlos, Daniela & Daniel) is friendly and show genuine care for the guests well-being. They made sure that we were well and loved to offer...

A long drive but well worth the trip. What an amazing sunset. We stayed for four nights in April 2016. The staff was amazing, they were attentive and the accommodations were comfortable. The Bamboo room is not to be missed and the local restaurant's have there own flare. We enjoyed nachos and ceviche almost everywhere we went. The breakfast and...

What an incredible hotel. My wife and I stayed there for 3 days in December. The staff made us feel like we were the only ones in the hotel. We arrived at dinner time and was greeted with a welcome cocktail and a smile. The staff was always around to help us make reservations and help plan our daily activities....
