The hotel, own by JR (a big Japanese Railway system), is located right next to Ichinoseki train station, which is very very convenient. Only 15 min walk to sightseeing spots, through nice quaint old town. The room was clean and comfortable. There a restaurant on the first floor, which is very convenient when you are too tired to go out...

This hotel is just a few steps towards the left as you get out of the train station. It has a restaurant with great menu selections and an excellent breakfast buffet. Breakfast may or may not be included – check with your hotel reservation options. The The rooms are big, nice and comfortable. The main sights around are 15-30 minutes...

We stayed here for 2 nights during this coming winter and apart from its great location next to the station it is a very nice local hotel. Not much english is spoken but what they lack in english they make up for in enthusiasm and warmth. A 10 minute stroll into town will lead you to all the sights of...

Great location just beside the Kakunodate Station. There's a restaurant as well, and you get a free breakfast. The coin laundry machine came in handy. The Kakunodate samurai houses are about a ten minutes walk away. You can take a local train to visit some nearby spots such as Dakigaeri. I booked a room through the registration on the hotel's...

Kakunodate is said to be the Little Kyoto of Akita Prefecture, with its merchant halls and Samurai houses. So the Folkloro Hotel is a very convenient and reasonably priced hotel right next to the JR station. The service was very pleasant. I found the breakfast basic but satisfactory. I ate at the hotel's restaurant for each of the 3 nights...

Located just next to the station, this hotel is one comfortable homely place I've stayed with great pleasure. The staffs are very friendly, helpful, kind, you name it and their warm hospitality left me speechless. Breakfast is great too; not wide-spread like those modern hotel's buffet breakfast but I like it. Home-cooked food kind of feeling. The room is spacious,...

We stayed here after a long day of shinkansen commute from Osaka. Awesome location next to JR and rooms (just) fitted my wife, me and 2 young kids. Don't worry about the train noise. All trains stop here so there are hardly any noise. Awesome breakfast too. Recommended

The hotel is very conveniently located next to the JR station (and although so close to the station, there is absolutely no noise from the trains.) We were very surprised by the spacious room we were allocated on the ground floor, a deluxe double twin. There are approximately 30 rooms on two floors. The staff were very friendly and helpful...

right outside the station. Clean and quiet despite the railway tracks on backyard, because during the night there is no train passing. Breakfast is sufficient, and you can have Western and Japanese food. The Samurai district is a 20 minutes walk away, and it is a very beautiful quarter. I can not understand how somebody in this blog here speaks...

You'd never know this small hotel is owned by JR. It has the feel of a friendly, locally owned hotel in a small town. We traveled all over Japan and the staff at the front desk here was the most respectful we encountered. All of them truly seemed to appreciate us as their guests and went out of their way...
