We stayed here for two nights and wish we could have spent more time during our two weeks in Japan. Typically, we enjoy more upscale and luxury (somewhere between Westin and Fairmont, although we've spent time in suites and Four Seasons) but this place was one of our best "Japanese Cultural Experience" that one could hope to be immersed in....

Great location to the rear of the main shopping area. Great access to the local amenities. All quite basic, but very quaint and delightful owners.Traditional Japanese room with tatami matting and very limited furnishings. In truth it could do with a coat of paint. However very clean. Onsen bathing on an unsophisticated rota. Dinner was excellent both nights. In its own...

We recently spent 1 night at this Japanese style place on the beautiful island of Miyajima. The place seemed to be run by a small number of people, whom are doing everything they can in order to make their guests happy. All guest-rooms seemed to be situated on the 2nd floor. Our room had a lovely small porch, looking at...

This ryokan is located one street behind the very touristy shopping street about 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal in the direction of the tori gates, so a very good location. The staff were very helpful. Our room was comfortable. We slept on futons on the floor and had a table at floor level as well as some chairs...

Had a really nice one night stay in this Ryokan. We were welcomed by our very friendly host who showed us around, explained how to use the relaxing baths, gave us maps and explained the local attractions. Dinner was a highlight, with yummy sashimi and beef. They were also very helpful with letting us store our bags before and after...

This was a traditional ryokan with futons and on a cute little street with a view of a large temple. We would definitely stay here again – they also had local snacks and tea laid out on the table when we got to our room. It's a perfect spot and not difficult to get to.

A relaxed very good hotel. The staff was very service oriented. An excellent 8 course Japanese dinner. Good Japanese breakfast. The WiFi was only working in the lobby but on the other hand, WiFi and TV should not be on your mind if you stay in an hotel like this.

This property is a partially hidden gem on Miyajima. It is centrally located and the staff is amazingly helpful. In fact, the staff may be some of the friendliest and most helpful we encountered during our Japan trip. The private, family style, Japanese bath is very relaxing after a day exploring the Island. Their recommendations, in terms of food, are...

What beautiful hotel. The architecture is nothing short of traditional and enchanting. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is in a quiet part of the neighbourhood. Wifi is excellent. Has aircon. The toilet was in our room but the shower was downstairs. Oh and don't forget the futon: like sleeping in clouds

Our stay at Ryoso Kawaguchi was memorable, it had a highlight meal, our first experience in a Ryokan, our first experience on tatami beds, and our first experience on miyajima. The staff here were extremely helpful, they were courteous and friendly. The dinner was amazing. As each course came out, I savored each and every moment, with my eyes and...
