I was able to arrange to be picked up at a museum in the city which was very convenient. The van may pick up several guests, usually the bus station, airport, or ferry which all have a fixed schedule. There were several groups in our van and when we arrived at the hotel, there was a large group of staff... More

We managed to escape the hustle and bustle of Japanese life and spend quality time as a family by venturing a little of the beaten path to this peaceful hotel in Southern Amakusa. With a view of the sea, perched on a steep hillside surrounded by lush vegetation, our villa was the perfect location for our family to relax, bond... More

If you are looking to get away from "it all," Gosoku no Kutsu may well be the place to do it. Built on a rugged hillside in very dense forest ( so dense i cannot be sure how the buildings got built), you'll find a relaxing place with limited internet (only in the reception area) and comfortable two-story villas with... I firstly mention this Japanese inn's name is Gosoku no Kutsu not Gosoko... as currently up on this tripad site. We enjoyed this Japanese inn very much. Not 100% traditional Japanese, maybe because of local Amakusa touch added to the interior deco? or maybe of a bit of trendy touch added by the owner? We arrived by rented car. It... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Gosoku-no-kutsu a traditional Japanese luxury RYOKAN&SPA,located on the west coast of Kyushu in Southwest Japan. In July 2002, there were 10 individual units called'Villas A/B'. In 2005, 5 more villas were added. These 'Villas C' are situated higher on the hillside, featuring a different view, cuisine, and atmosphere. In essence, these two sets of villas can be thought of as completely separate from one another. Regardless, every villa has its own private open air bath fed by a natural hot spring, as well as an indoor bath. We invite you to select the villa that best matches your preferences. ... more   less
