We ended up staying here because the hotels in Sendai were fully booked or exorbitantly expensive during our visit dates. We had rail passes so we were able to take advantage of several Shinkansen trips into Sendai (15 minutes) during our stay. This would be very expensive for those purchasing regular tickets, though. The hotel is very new, room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and nice toiletries. The breakfast was great with a generous spread with western and Japanese style options. Shiroishizao is a sleepy area away from the center of Shiroishi (itself fairly quiet). There is some cool art in the station and we had fun taking photos (we were the only ones there most of the times we passed through). Overall this hotel is very good!

They don't have triple rooms so we had to get 2 adjacent rooms but they weren't connected and they were very small (almost no place to open the suitcases). The mattress wasn't comfortable and had an indentation in the middle. The bathroom was tiny and like an airplane or boat one with flimsy plastic walls, door and floor; it didn't have an extra toilet paper roll (only one for total lack of space and it was almost used up so we ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night). The staff almost speaks no English (it was hard to get across that we had breakfast included) so we couldn't ask them to help us reserve dinner at our next location like we wished. Dinner was very expensive but average (we splurged on the sendai A5 beef but didn't like it: it was greasy and didn't taste like meat; we also didn't like the beef tongue as it was very chewy). The breakfast wasn't good either (not even the scrambled eggs). The location is very convenient as it's very close to the train station.
