We stayed at the japanese style room with private hot spring. The cost included breakfast and dinner all in japanese style. The meal are beautiful and delicious. Hotel staff are nice and friendly. It is close to the famous Lake Kinrin, around 5-10 minutes walk. The hotel provide free pickup service from the Yufuin JR station and of course you...

We stayed there for 1 night and our package included dinner, breakfast, the use of public baths and a private bath available in our room. The dinner was excellent with the theme of autumn. The chef used fresh seasonal ingredients and delicately presented in traditional Japanese style. Each dish was like a piece of art and all impressive. The breakfast...

Our stay in Santokan is a great experience with high quality service. The onsen hotel is very clean, quiet and beautiful. Hotel staff are all very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We had all our requests answered and we are satisfied. The room type is traditional Japanese style with western style bathroom. There is also a public Onsen where people are...

Close to the famous lake and take a nice walk in the morning. Nice dinner and breakfast. Good value. Worth to stay if you want traditional Japanese ryokan. Staff speaks limited English but sufficient for services. The onsen is good. In-room bath and shower is quite big.

Hotel itself is not huge but service is truly magnificient. Cheerful and personal, extremely patient...

Santoukan is just a street behind the tourist area. Frankly, the location is not my cup of tea. However, later we found that it's just 5 minutes walk from Lake Kinrin. The hotel is quite compact but they've got all they ought to have - two indoor onsens, one male and one female and the same for the two outdoor...

We wanted a good Japanese lunch and was referred here by the tourist info. The meal was exquisite & sumptuous and we walked around the grounds of the ryokan. Beautiful ! It is very near to the lake and off the main touristy areas. Quiet retreat. The next time we are at Yufuin and want an authentic local ryokan, this...

We stayed at Yufuin Santokan during Chinese New Year. The Ryokan was beautiful, very elegant japanese style decor, great baths. The service, albeit poor in English, was excellent. We understood each other without problems. Food, specially dinner is one of the highlights. Served in your room a multi course set dinner of japanese delicacies. Location is great and Yufuin a...
