This is by far the best Ryokan we stayed in Japan. We visited during winter and Notoya Ginzan looked so magical and enchanting! Every corner is so picturesque! Breakfast and dinner kaiseki style were so refined. Thank you so much for the hospitality and services rendered during our stay! Kudos to the entire staff for making our trip so wonderful!

We stayed here for 1 night towards the end of December 2016. We caught the bus from the Oishida station - there is no sign indicating where the bus will be, however at the designated pick up time, the parking lot will fill up with buses from all the ryokans and it's easy to spot the one for Notoya. Slightly...

Stayed at the Notoya Ryokan in the Ginzan Onsen town from 18-20 December 2016. We arrived at Oishida station on the Shinkansen from Tokyo. This is the nearest station to the Ginzan Onsen town. The ryokan has a mini-bus waiting at the station for all arriving trains to fetch their guests to the ryokan. It is a further 30-minute ride...

An ideal ryokan for honeymooners—I was one— in a Ryokan Village going back to the Edo Period and near an old sliver mine. We had a room at the top with a gorgeous view of the town. Tres romantique, idyllic

We absolutely loved this ryokan. Reasons: - the room is spacious, very clean, and in Japanese style - we did the half board (which is a great thing to do as there aren't that many options in Ginzan onsen) and the food was wonderful. For dinner, we had a private room for the two of us and they kept on...

Notoya Ryokan with its red bridge is definitely the most stunning looking building on the ginza onsen street. It's also one of the major inspiration behind the bath house in Ghibli Spirited Away anime. Warm welcome was extended as soon as you arrive. Room is huge with a balcony to relax while enjoying the view. Private basement bath is awesome...

We had a wonderful April stay at Notoya Ryokan. Over the years, we have always included 1-2 ryokans during our Japan visits. This one was pretty close to the top with reference to rooms, food, service, and cultural experience. The ryokan has a welcoming entrance and staff. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with traditional tatami floors. The onsen...

Very nice classic building with traditional japanese decoration. Very warm welcome from all staffs. Large japanese room for my family with very good view of this memorable village, Ginzan Onsen. If you feel free about public bathing in japanese style, I recommend this place because their is no private shower inside your room. Open-air bath in snowing period was splendid....
