We stayed at the George a wonderful 700 year old inn with rustic and characterful rooms. Staff were all very friendly and we dined in the restaurant for dinner twice and had breakfast twice. Food offerings were varied well presented and well cooked . Wine choices were good value and good quality. Thoroughly recommended. Food is served in the restaurant... More

We stayed one night at the weekend in the George Inn. We were a little disappointed to be led to our room across the road from the main building with a different name but I'm guessing it was part of the main Inn. Our room was not as large as I expected from a superior room but it was clean,... More

We stayed in the Coach Room 18th November for 2 nights. From the minute we walked into the bar to check in we felt as if we had just come home from a long journey. All of the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean, warm, comfortable and just perfect! The decor... More

Fantastic meal, brought to our table in good time, 13 meals, all good quality. We were in the Dungeon room, heating very low, could have been cosier. Staff all obliging. Would certainly go again but sit near the fire!

Warm and friendly atmosphere, very friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price. Roaring fire in the cosy bar. Stayed in the room 'Coach' reached by it's own private staircase on the High Street which is very quaint and characterful. Lovely room, with beautiful furnishings, nice fresh white linen, well appointed bathroom with gorgeous fluffy towels, all very promising... More

We stayed here for one night as we were attending my Uncles 80th Birthday Lunch. The food for both lunch and breakfast was fantastic. The room we stayed in had a four poster bed which was brilliant. We also took our little dog with us who was made most welcome. If you are looking for an "authentic" place to stay... More

Full of history and old world charm this is a great place to visit. We stayed in Abbots room which was larger than expected and has a really nice view across to the church. The ensuite is a bit small due to the structure of the building, but is just sufficient. Everything else was A1. A very pleasant and enjoyable... More

12 of us booked in for Sunday lunch at this lovely old pub. It was an emergency as there had been a mix up over our booking to celebrate a big birthday and they fitted us in in half an hour. We were housed in the Dungeon which mean we had the room to ourselves which was great for us... More

This is a wonderful place to stay and would recommend it to everyone. The staff were consistently amazing and the location is perfect. The location is very central to the many tourist places close by, Stonehenge is a short drive away as is Bath.
