The Premier Inn Eastbourne Polegate offers a mixed bag according to reviews, with its value proposition being questioned due to unexpected charges, despite some commendations for cost-effectiveness. While cleanliness and comfort are highlights, guests have noted that rooms may require air conditioning and refurbishment. The hotel's location is deemed convenient, though noise can be an issue for some. Service experiences vary, ranging from professional to disappointing. The atmosphere and amenities are satisfactory to many, but the outdated feel of the hotel and amenities has not gone unnoticed.

We have stayed a few times before, and once again enjoyed our time away. Staff are friendly and efficient. Clean rooms. We are very light sleepers so always ring ahead for a quiet room, and we were very happy with what we were allocated. Nice to have the pub across the car park. Also a McD for quick breakfast in the morning. Car park can get busy as this seems to be a very popular hotel, and pub.

We were the first guests to check-in post-Covid. There is hand sanitiser as you enter, arrows on the floors and screens at reception. The guys at reception were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Upon check-out you just drop your key cards in a box at the door to reduce interactions.

The room was fine, albeit excessively hot for a cool weekend. The room temperature didn't drop below 27 degrees despite the fan on and window open (the few inches it can open). This was the only downside! To note it was 18 degrees, windy and raining outside. The shower head did not move and was set at an angle at the opposite end of the bath which was rather interesting but not awful. Water pressure and temperature was good. Everything seemed clean and tidy.

You are only supplied with the bare minimum due to guidelines, but can ask for any additions. We asked for another pillow, and additional tea and milk which was delivered in a bag to our door.

To note. There is no lift, if you have a room on the first floor you will need to carry your case up stairs.

We had a carpark facing room which was quiet but the resturante across the carpark was closed. I assume when it is open you would hear residual noise if you are at the front of the building.

Lovely hotel and staff, we had a disabled room for just over a week with a wet room and an extremely powerful shower. The double bed we booked was 2 small singles linked together and the bed was extremely low. Due to the current situation the room was not cleaned daily only twice in our 8 day stay which was not great but I found it strange that they didn’t leave us anything outside the door, we had to constantly ask for tea, coffee and milk as well as towels. Our room was down an extremely long corridor and being disabled myself my partner had to go each time. The restaurant called the treacle mine was just next door, we had to pick and choose and order our cooked breakfast from the staff out of the 8 days it was cold for 2 days, drinks and toast we got ourselves the only cereal option was muesli or porridge which we didn’t really want with a cooked breakfast, something lighter would of been better. On entering we got given a tray, 2 cups, cutlery (but not enough) and a small bag of condiments. We ate their in the evening twice the food was nice but nothing special and quite overpriced with no set menu. Their is a McDonald’s and a co-op over the road which was handy. On the whole a good week but not the usual premier inn high standards

No evening meal despite having booked a meal deal
Not enough notice to make alternative plans
Only one bath towel for 2 guests
Complained to staff at the time & to Premier Inns subsequently received standard fob off not addressing any of the issues or refund. Very disappointing.
Also don’t stay here In warm weather the rooms are stiflingly hot with poor ventilation & windows that don’t open properly.

The rooms were to the usual Premier Inn standard. Comfortable bed and good sleep - except for the people a floor below us who had drank too much in the pub and were arguing through the window (one inside and one outside by the car). We just ignored them and put the telly a bit louder. Dinner in the pub was good and not too pricey, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We didn't have breakfast. Reception was polite and friendly.

I booked a room here for a few nights with my husband and child while we were visiting family in the area. It’s the first time we’ve stayed here and I must say we’d definitely return! With Premier Inn you usually know you’re guaranteed a good stay but I feel the staff here went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. I am a naturally chatty person so I had a good conversation with Debbie while she was checking us in- she was lovely and very informative, we enjoyed our breakfasts every morning and we were very impressed with the food and service, during our stay we bumped into one of the housekeepers, I believe her name was Carlene, she was very polite whilst checking our room was ok and she was also really friendly to our daughter.
The rooms were spotlessly clean every day and fresh towels plus other items were topped up daily. If the hotel could make one improvement then it would be to have central heating rather than portable heaters- I found those dangerous around my young child as they get so hot but it didn’t affect our stay, hence my high rating!
We have stayed at other Premier Inns before which we have thought were good but actually this one tops them! The staff are an asset here!

A comfortable hotel that is in a perfect location just off the A27 to explore many of the surrounding areas or if like me you are just passing through, there is plenty of free customer car parking but remember to input your car/van registration number as soon as you check in, or else you could get a fine.

I had a friendly check in with a welcoming lady on the reception desk & was given a key to my room on the 1st floor, there is no lift at this hotel but the windows do open in the rooms if you like fresh air, I had everything I needed including a nice view of the Whitbread Treacle Mine restaurant opposite where I had a table booked for later that evening.

I had a lovely comfortable bed, a kettle with tea & coffee condiments, a large flat screen TV, a desk & chair plus a sofa, a large cool air fan along with the standard air conditioning/central heating on the wall, the bathroom had both a bath & a shower but sadly the water pressure from the shower was very weak, I also couldn't get my room very warm for some reason which was a shame as it was snowing outside, overall I had a very enjoyable stay especially considering this hotel is near a very busy road, a popular fuel station & a drive thru McDonald's plus it was a Friday night.

The cooling fan was very quiet. The bed was comfortable. Service staff were helpful and friendly.

Low quality pillows are too soft and do nothing for a good night’s sleep. The room was excessively hot but this I understand because the weather was very warm. The room had not been cleaned very well before we arrived, because there were discarded sweets under the bed. Lorry drivers should be made aware that reversing alarms at 04:30 make them no friends.
Covid rules have eased so why is there no policy in the hotel to open room windows and room doors on opposite sides of the building to get any trough put of airflow? This action would make life more comfortable for the house-keeping staff, and give some protection against infection?

We stayed booked this hotel for 2 nights to attend a wedding reception locally. We parked car in the large car park and registered on the machine in the foyer. We checked in at reception which was incredibly hot. The staff member was very friendly and helpful. Apron entering our first floor room we noticed that the curtains were closed, window was open ajar and a large fan was on full in the corner. Despite this the thermostat still read 23 degs, We had an uncomfortable night the first night, deciding to leave the fan on. It was incredibly noisy. The second night we switched the fan off and just had the open window. Both nights the temp didn’t drop below 23degs!😨 The breakfast was served in the adjacent restaurant and was up to Premier inn usual good standard. All staff were very friendly and helpful . Premier Inn please install better air conditioning in this hotel as otherwise we couldn’t fault it!

We only stayed one night and were a little concerned as it was our first hotel stay since Covid. But all was fine! The person on duty was very kind and helpful, although he didn't wear a mask. We did, of course, as all the signs said to do so.

The room itself was perfectly adequate as Premier Inn rooms usually are, but cleaner than usual! That was a relief. I had to go and ask for extra pillows as they don't keep them in the room any more, which is understandable. And there weren't any decaff coffee sachets, but we were quicly given a handful! Breakfast in the nearby Treacle Mine was tasty with fairly good social distancing in place.

We stayed in a ground floor accessible room. We wish that there were accessible rooms on the higher floors as accessible rooms almost alway overlook the car park, which isn't so pleasant! So, more accessible rooms on higher floors, please!

Whilst it is close to a garage (service station), it is not noisy at all. We were on the first floor and didn't experience any problems with noise whilst in the room (we overlooked the carpark to the front), either during the day or night.

I certainly think so. Try Polegate Taxis 01323 484212 if there’s no taxis at the station
