Detailed Reviews
My wife and I recently dined at the Willow Inn to celebrate our anniversary. I had heard some very positive reviews of Chef Danny Smiles' cuisine and was eager to sample some of his dishes. The meal did not disappoint. The food was well prepared, fresh and loaded with different flavours and textures. We started with an appetizer of cantaloupe and tomatoes on a cantaloupe coulis...sweet and delicious. The arctic char dish with trout roe and spinach leaves was perfectly prepared. The cavatelli dish was delicious, dressed in a citrus sauce with bits of zucchini and anchovy. Prices were on the high end, but well worth it . The wine list was extensive with various price points. Would definitely recommend the Willow Inn restaurant if you don't mind paying a bit more for a high quality meal.

This was a return trip to the area and since I was here before I decided to return to relive the charm. The Inn and the food are still very accommodating to anyone's pallet. The rooms are very comfy and for the food the great kitchen can offer better than average pub food.

Was sad to see them close last fall, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the new owners have really put the effort in.
Dinning room is still cozy with a great view of the water, their small menu has great choices for every palate. We had the Braised Short Ribs and Fish & Chips - both were delicious.

This is a beutiful place located on the water with an amazing view of Ottawa river. The Oka-Hudson ferry crossing just in fron only adds to the enjoying experience.
We arrived two cuples at 6 PM for supper and were politelly told the terasse (a must in the summer) is on a first come basis and were invited to have a drink by the water while we were waiting for our table. The place is so nice I wouldn't have any problem waiting there for hours, but after about 40 minutes, as promised, we were called to our table. So far so good.
But then we ordered and the food came and everythng went down the drain.
I had the chicken: overcooked and hard as rubber. On one side, where it touched whatever cooking plate they use is was hard as wood. The potatoes were black and soaked in oil. Disgusting.
My wife had the salmon: On one sade it was black and hard like a shoe sole. She had to cut this off before eating it. Shad the mashed potatoes which were eatable.
Our frien's wife had the duck. Same thing. Burned on one side. And she got the sme disgusting potatoes as miself.
Her husband had the fish and chips, which was somehow more acceptable buth the fries were again dark and soaked in oil and he didn't touch them.
Nobody ever came to ask how is our food. We called the waiter and complained and he said he will tell the chef. No manager came to ask what the problem is and nobody got excited. It was business as usual for them.
So I ended up paying 87$ (no desert) for two and when I got home I made a sandwich because I was hungry.

My second stay at Auberge Willow Inn (this time under new management). Staff were welcoming and fluently bilingual. My double bed room was small, quiet and very comfortable for a two night stay. Room and bathroom were spotless. Excellent value for price. I will definitely return.

On Thanksgiving weekend, October 2018, my nephew organized a surprise 70th Birthday Party for his Mother. He was in daily contact with Manager, Julie as he lives in Toronto, Ontario. Julie was very polite, helpful and organized. The Birthday dinner and evening was a huge success. The guests came from Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, West Island, Saint-Lazare and Hudson. Everyone was very happy with their meals and service. Such a beautiful location with a warm atmosphere and yummy food! Thank you to the Auberge Willow Inn.

We spent one night here en-route to Montreal. It was a nice find. The Inn is nicely situated on the water, with great views from the dining room and back deck. Our room and bath were spacious and spotless, with a very comfortable bed and modern bath. That said, if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, it didn't have a comfortable seating area in the room (just two small wooden chairs and a small table) or a common area within the hotel except for a seating area in the lobby. We were visiting on a cool, damp day, so we weren't able to take advantage of the lawn chairs or other outdoor seating areas, which would be inviting on a nicer day. Breakfast was outstanding, with many well priced options on the menu.

I was there for a rehearsal dinner and it was such a wonderful place to eat and to get to met others who would be attending the wedding. The setting is beautiful by the water and so is the restaurant. Service was very good as was the food.
However, judging by the reviews, consistency of food and service seems to be a problem.
