If you want a VERY UNIQUE experience, this is it. Spend a night - or more - in a castle. Chateau de La Barben is an unbelievable experience. You sleep in the midst of history. It was kind of fun having the castle to ourselves and roaming around. You get the code to the front door and can come and...

We have visited this magnificent castle twice and Bertrand and his family made us feel most welcome. This charming castle with beautifully decorated rooms and stunning views is a great place for a romantic retreat.

We stayed in the Elisa room (the one in the picture) and being the spoilt girl I am, I honestly felt like a little princess! This is a castle that has been through a few periods therefore expect a mix of decoration, nevertheless I think it´s fantastically adorned! We missed the last guided tour (in French) but they gave us...

Magnificent stately home, beautifully kept, with outstanding welcome. The owners make you feel as if you visited relatives in the 18th century - with all the modern comfort. The views from the bedrooms are stunning.

A stunning, off the grid stay in an authentic fairy-tale 11th century castle. As a guest you will live in a beautifully appointed castle stepping into your own Beauty-and-the-Beast chateau opened as a museum by day but at night all your own with romance, mystery and the historic legends of past intrigues and object d'art. Each unique room is large-sized,...

Absolutely amazing hosts. We were on our honeymoon and the owners looked after us like extended members of their family. It was halloween night so we couldn't eat with the owners, so they recommended the restaurant that was literally 50 metres down the road. The food was incredible, and the following morning we were treated to a full French breakfast...

My husband and I stayed in Room Elisa for two nights when we traveled to the south of France in the summer. We had a fantastic time. The castle, which is said to date back to 1064, felt wonderfully authentic and it was a great experience to have breakfast in the medieval kitchen. Our room was beautifully appointed. There was...

My wife and I traveled to southern France this past August (2012). This was a wonderful treat to stay at this castle. Our room was wonderful and the entire stay in the historic castle was like going back in time. We elected to have dinner at the castle which is a separate charge, but it was well worth every penny....

Spent one night here. We had an aperitif with the chateau owners and the other b&b guests, which wasn't very interesting as they don't seem to speak much English so most of the conversation was in french. Then dinner (4 courses I believe) with the other guests in the medieval kitchen, which was very interesting and delicious but I guess...
