Upon waking up in the morning one is blown away by the views. The chalets have a lot of glass and allow to really soak up the surroundings. The location is breathtaking and the lodge is fantastic for a quiet time away, deep relaxation and enjoying the solitude of the mountains an

Dear Anne Thank you for the review of Sani Valley, I really appreciate your comments and although there are a few criticisms which I will take into consideration your overall stay seemed to be enjoyable and we hope you can make a turn past us in the future. I appologise about the gluten options not being available, I did check and there are a few options at the local Spar like some types of bread but unfortunately I am not really familiar with those products so was nervous to offer something I was not sure of. That is why we did mention this to you before you arrived and you agreed to bring your own specialty items. We do not offer home grown food or organic food as it is for us very difficult to source in Underberg, we do however support the local Butchery that has his own organic lamb and beef, many of the vegetables that we buy locally are also produced locally. We have 3 retired horses that do not get ridden at all, they are put out to pasture daily and returned at night to get additional feed. I am not sure about the tension in the horses, not something I am aware of or qualified to comment on but I think they live a very peaceful and relaxed life. The coffee we offer for breakfast is produced on the South Coast of KZN and we buy it in whenever we can, sometimes that is not available so we use coffee beans that we can buy from the local Spar, we do also offer instant coffee as some people do not like filter coffee. The coffee we offer in the units is filter coffee however but we do have coffee plungers for people to bring their own coffee if they prefer specialty types of coffee. I hope I have managed to answer some of your concerns and questions and thank you for the 4 star rating, I hope you had a safe flight back to Cape Town. Regards Gareth

We had a lovely stay, everything was just like the web site said. View was amazing and staff so friendly. We only stayed 2 nights but so relaxing. To wake up with horses and zebra and so many other animals was great. The 1 negative..the rail on Sunset 1's patio needs some TLC.

Is there wifi and if not what is cellphone coverage like?
Hi There I do have Wi-Fi at my Lakeside units and at my boathouse/breakfast area and obviously at my reception. We have Vodacom and Cell C coverage normally (I have boosters at the boathouse and reception) but MTN is limited. Sorry for getting back to you so late, not sure how I missed this question? Regards Gareth

Hi. On average when do get snow every year and are there any 4x4 trails nearby? Does one need a passport?
Hi. On average when do get snow every year and are there any 4x4 trails nearby? Does one need a passport?
Hi Tshegisi I thought this question had been answered sorry :( We normally get snow between May and September, if you time it with a cold front you should be lucky. The main 4x4 route would be up the Sani Pass and yes a passport is required....but it is definitely worth it. If we don't have snow there will almost definitely be snow there. Regards Gareth

Do you have any wheelchair accessible units?
Dear Nicholas I do not have units that are graded wheel chair friendly, however our Earl Mist units have only one small step at the main door, with the rest of the unit having no stairs, the shower has no door and is fairly large. Hope this helps Regards Gareth
