From start to finish the level of service and attention to detail from everyone we received on our wedding day was second to none. It’s safe to say we were all a little apprehensive as to what the wedding would be like due to the pandemic. However, despite the current restrictions, the hotel staff compensated where they could and made our COVID wedding seem “normal”. Without a shadow of a doubt, the hotel staff definitely played a huge part in making our wedding day what it was. The food and cocktails were also brilliant! ! To say the day exceeded our expectation would be an understatement. The event staff were excellent and made our wedding come to life after waiting all this time!

A lovely location and good amenities including great outdoor spa pool. Rooms nice although a little tired and TV’s could do with updating to allow screen mirroring from phones. SPA facilities good and staff friendly. Food choice and quality disappointing and Bar service very slow at night when restaurant is busy.

When we arrived there had been a mix up with our booking but this was quickly resolved by the receptionist and we were given a room upgrade. We had booked to celebrate my husbands birthday. The room was decorated to a high standard, and was spacious. We used the spa facilities, swimming pool and outside Jacuzzi which had a view of the Clyde and Dumbarton Rock. We booked for dinner in the Vista Restaurant. We chose a 2 course option form the Market menu and the food was very nice. Breakfast was also held in the Vista Restaurant and there is a good choice of food on the menu. It is a table service breakfast and a choice of full Scottish ( also vegetarian cooked breakfast) continental and other options such as pancakes or eggs Benedict. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend, and hope to visit again in the future.

Stayed in Junior Suite at a cost of around £200 per night. Suite is very tired and outdated and talking to other guests most rooms sound as though they are in need of updating. Room smelled very musty and damp and there was a lot of dust on mirrors, glass tops on table and dressing table. Stains on carpet. Rusty pipes in bathroom. During our stay there were 2 weddings taking place and while I understand they need to make money I think you should be made aware that facilities like the dram bar and the outside seating are unavailable for you to use. Weather was beautiful while we were there but the only outside area we could use were 4 tables on a balcony at Nineteenth Hole. Hotel exterior and views are outstanding. Food at Vista restaurant very disappointing and very limited menu. Staff were very friendly but they are understaffed. Staff training is required and some senior staff were dressing down new staff members in front of guests very unprofessional and very embarrassing for the new members of the team who were trying their best. Maybe if the senior members weren’t swanning around saying I not here to serve but to supervise the service may improve waiting time for drinks is around 30 - 40 mins. Very disappointed certainly won’t recommend or return. Also please check your bill when leaving as was overcharged £29 and still waiting for it to be refunded as we weren’t the only ones check out took awhile as most people had charged on their bill that shouldn’t have been there

Long time booking in to begin with. Stairwell leading to rooms extremely dirty along with carpet. Our room carpet was stained along with the bed, dressing table glass top severely cracked and dangerous, coffee stains on skirting board by TV, lots of cobwebs, old ones. John the manager appeared, apologised and was understanding offering us a change of room and a drink. Our family in another room had very similar issues and were moved. Unfortunately the new rooms were much the same even worse, our bed was not clean, heavily stained mattress and bedding. We have photographs available. Dinner was nice, breakfast mediocre, waiting staff nice, long wait at the bar for service. Check out was nightmare, overcharged for food and drink not correctly resolved to this day, waited in a queue considerable time as all others in front of us were complaining about being overcharged. Nice grounds. Sadly will not be returning unless they offer it complimentary for a second review.
