Scole Inn is better than average but doesn't quite make very good but could with a bit of fine tuning from the management. When we arrived our room was not ready and the very nice young man on reception offered us a drink while we waited. When our room was ready (room 25) in the old stable block he showed... More

We stayed recently in this delightful hotel, as we were going to my brothers part and needed accommodation for the night. I was pleasantly surprised. I had room 9, very tastefully decrorated, warm and cosy looking, with plenty of hot water a decent sized en suite with shower. No complaints, whatsoever, comfy bed, and quiet, apart from birds nestling in... More

We live locally but have avoided the Scole Inn for a number of years after the quality of the food declined. Last night we visited again after being turned away from the Crossways and were really pleased that we did. It almost goes without saying that the Scole Inn is a fabulous old building, no it's not been refurbished for... More

Great place, A little dated but what character it has Friendly staff good food and good beer, what more could you ask for? Just off the A140 it's in a nice quiet location. Give it a try I'm sure you will enjoy it.

There are not that many hotels in the area so the choice is somewhat limited. But the building is stunning and has wonderful historical significance. The rooms we were in (8 and 10) where both OK but a little shabby - 10 better than 8 - a good clean and update would help. The shower in 8 would only run... More

Arrived Saturday night and was greeted by an unhelpful porter who then directed us to a dirty room, moved to another room where the bedside lights did not work. Had a meal in the bar which was very average and undesirable. However breakfast was the saving grace as was greeted by a friendly member of staff who was happy to... More

If you believed some of the reviews on trip adviser you would never visit this place. Thank goodness I chose to ignore the negative ones. The is a fantastic building with so many wonderful features. Four poster beds , amazing fireplaces and so much history . We had an evening meal and breakfast and both were good and good value... More

Having builders in our home, so with no water or electricity, we decided to stay at Scole Inn. We did already know of the Scole Inn as we sometimes call in for a morning coffee. Our three night stay was lovely! All the staff were pleasant and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was clean... More

I knew exactly what to expect by looking online before booking, and my assumptions proved correct. This hotel could be stunning, but the house-keeping in non existent, and the attention to detail has been ignored. The staff were fantastic - particularly a young man named Mark. He was very attentive, and could not have done more for us. Mark is... More

We checked in here late in the evening, following a long drive to be met by an unethusiastic man who begrudingly checked us in. Once he had we went over to our room (in the stable area) to find drinks on the stairs (they remained for the stay) and our room was unhoovered with much debris on the floor. Too... More
