Its been over 6 months since my husband and I stayed in this beautiful property and I have meant to review before. Like a good book our experience in El Cielo has remained with me to be savoured long after it is finished. We spent 3 days in June and it truly is a special place. The rooms are beautiful,...

Stayed one night at El Cielo de Canar. John was a gracious host. We were walking the GR7. John picked us up in Canar and drove us to his place. It was a rainy day. Nicely furnished rooms. Patio has great views of the Alpujarras on sunny days. John was very nice. He drove us to town for dinner and...

It's early September. The view goes down to the Mediterranean and all the way to Morocco. The figs are ripe and John says you can help yourself. Though the four guest bedrooms are small, the shower is terrific and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good (fresh figs of course) and the day is yours to enjoy the terrace, the...

What can I say that hasn,t already been said. I want to live here. The place is amazing and no review can give it Justice. John and Orna were excellent hosts above and beyond expectations. The accommodation was idilic, the views were amazing and the morning sunrise over the mountains exquisite. The little village of Canar is quaint with a...

We have just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at El Cielo de Canar and want to recommend it highly. We felt part of the local friendly fun community, we enjoyed a flamenco eveing in the church square, we filled our water bottles daily with fresh cold spring water and took John and Orna's lovely two dogs for a...

Myself and my wife, stayed here for a week and truly loved every second. We found John and Oma the perfect hosts of their idyllic home, both are welcoming, friendly, helpful and provide excellent food and service. The location is spectacular, clean, modern and stylish and we found the drive up not as extreme as we initially imagined from reading...

So, you really need to want to go here as it is quite the trip. Up roads that often are almost too narrow for two cars at the same time to pass and since there is quite a drop off the side, makes for an exciting experience. The directions to get here are superb; will not get lost if one...

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at El Cielo de Canar and couldn't recommend it enough. John and Orna went out of their way to ensure our stay went as smoothly as possible, nothing was too much for them. The location is incredible, if you want a real taste of rural Spain then this is...

My boyfriend and I stayed at El Cielo for 2 nights as part of a 10 day trip around the Andalucia region. We had an incredibly relaxing stay and could not recommend it more highly. John was the perfect host and Orna cooked us a delicious evening meal for the 2 nights we stayed. The honesty bar is a great...

We stayed for only 2 nights and I already regret not to have reserved for much longer! The locaiton is amazing, the view is breathaking and room was perfect, etc, etc... I am usually quite critical, but in this case I can't really find any flaw. John was super helpful and attentive, perfect host for a perfect location. I can't...
