Candles in the Wind is a great place to stay when in Tobago, whether you are a solo traveller like me or travelling with someone. I stayed in the attic dorm, and it was quiet and with strong fans, so nice and cool at night. Andrew the host is very friendly and accommodating and will help you out with what you need in Tobago. The guesthouse is a short walk from Store Bay Beach and also Pigeon Point Beach a bit further on. There are good restaurants, bars, shops and street food nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

Unclean place. Not worth the money. Boiling hot dorm room that has 22 beds a d only two bathrooms for all these people. Not allowed to use the bathroom in the rooms, even though showers are malfunctioning daily. Sometimes did not work as water came out at the bottom and not shower head. Despite rooms empty could not use shower as owner did not want to clean extra washroom? The whole building is filthy. Unbelievable.

Awfully hot and filthy place. Owner does not want to do renovations to maintain ancient and poorly built property. There are no cleaners employed He refuses to get staff and cannot manage on his own Uncleaned toilets, body hairs on soap, towels and bed sheets. Bins not emptied until three to four days. Extremely nosey person Check the pictures. There are cheaper places to stay around this location, but one has to walk around and enquire. I only found out as I was moving from the area.

Response from Andrew Leekit, Owner at Candles in the Wind
Responded 3 weeks ago
This Guest, although having stayed a total of eight nights and booked through Booking.com, did not contribute to keeping her surroundings in an acceptable manner. It is not clear what her motive is as all Guests are invited to enjoy our House facilities on other floors and reserve the Attic for sleeping only. There were many Casual Conversations between us and no mention of her concerns were brought to my attention. I wish her all the best in her Years of travel and be more open minded when visiting the World.

I don't know how to describe how good my experience in this place was, starting with the owner of the house, a simple and very helpful person, always asking if I needed anything, I received several tips about the city and prices to pay less for my activities, he is very friendly, great conversation, the place is very well located, 5 minutes walking from a wonderful beach and just 10 minutes from another, in addition to several restaurants, pharmacies and markets next to the house, the place is very clean and quiet.

I enjoyed staying minutes away from the hub of storebay and even though there is a night life there .....candles in the wind hotel gives an experience of simple ambience. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is warm. Please check it out and it is worth the experience.

We had a very nice experience at the The Candles in the Wind. The accommodation is nice and clean with a good location in Crown Point. The short walk to the beautiful beaches was a great plus. In fact it was even walking distance to the airport. Our host Mr Andrew was very kind and service minded. The Candles in the Wind offered good value for money.

The place is well located - can go to Pigeon Point Beach by foot. Also close to local main restaurants and bars (5 min walk). The host Andrew is very kind and pleasant - he saved me lots of money by connecting to locals who organize trips to Buccoo reef and Nylon Pool (when buying online this would cost 5 times more). Andrew also gave me a lift from and to Ferry Terminal (although it was 5 in the morning!). Thank you for everything Andrew.

it was a nice experience in tobaga, a place very close to the popular pigeon point to go for buccoreef, etc...and also the most happening place.... staying home is like our own home, we have good privilege and the manager Mr. Andrew is like our family elder brother, takes care of the guests very nicely. i didn't have much time to stay in tobago, maybe during my next visit...
