If you want to visit this pub I recommend you go for the beer and the riverside location, but eat elsewhere until they improve their food. My wife and I visited this pub for lunch today and were really disappointed. My rib eye steak, priced at over £23, was so gristly that I had to send it back. I chose...

I am so sorry to read of your very poor experience with you, you were assisted by a young man who got himself in a terrible twist about what he should do. We have very clear policies for what should be done in the event of a complaint. I am afraid none of these procedures were followed on this occasion,...

I rang up to book a room for the weekend and was told there was a room available for Saturday night on a DBB rate. I told the friendly lady I would call back within 30 mins to confirm and when I did so within 5 mins she said yes she would book it for me but could she call...

I am so sorry you had this experience, and it does sound like one of my new staff dealt with you in the beginning. We do place huge importance on training our staff, our staff are willing and wanting to please and some bite off more than they can chew. I believe that this young lady had not been trained...

The food here did not live up to the good reviews and awards received. The hotel itself is lovely, with a large beer garden area. The food is nothing special at all and a very small, very, very tough lobster with mediocre fries and dry, undressed salad was £20. We were charged 2 very different prices for exactly the same...

I am sorry I have not been as quick to reply to some of these reviews as I should be. It does not mean that we do not take them seriously, I assure you we do. I apologise for the errors on the bar drinks, mistakes do happen, and I am sure you would have pointed it out and we...

I spent a few days at the Trout recently with my husband, a close family friend and our dog, It was a very relaxing break and the weather enabled us to enjoy the Inn's lovely garden on most days. Rooms were nice and comfortable, the food was good and the staff extremely helpful and attentive, without being intrusive. A very...

We were in a party who spent a night at 'The Trout' in July. Our room, which was in the the main building, was good with a comfortable bed, albeit the ensuite bathroom was 'compact', and we both enjoyed a good night's sleep. We had good weather for our stay so we enjoyed drinks in the garden prior to a very...

My husband and I were returning from a week away when we remembered it was our 27th wedding anniversary and decided on extending our tip to include a night in a hotel. The Trout was a perfect choice - serene, charming and relaxing. The restaurant was informal and relaxing and the service was attentive and friendly. The walk that we...

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous evening at the Trout. The service was impeccable throughout; despite a full house the staff were attentive, efficient and polite. The menu was just the right size, so you know that everything is freshly made and not out of the freezer. Wonderful cuisine; pan-fried scallops, veal and the belly of pork were tasty,...

We stayed one night on the Thames Path walk, but would have stayed longer if we could have. The location is so beautiful and the Inn is friendly. The room was very nice, and the breakfast was brilliant, - I've never eaten porridge, or oatmeal, with Drambuie before but probably will regularly now! The Inn has a great evening menu...

I must admit that before I arrived at The Trout I didn't know what to expect as I had read reviews prior to leaving our home some of which were less than complimentary to say the least! We had a table booked for 7.30 and arrived early as we wanted to catch the last of the sun with a glass...
