We went here for lunch, there's a super cute train that takes you to a rotating restaurant with an awesome view. Train takes about 25 min to get there with an exiting route with bridges and tunnels, train cost $10 totally worth it, food at the restaurants is very fair priced, not expect too much luxury. There's also a nice... More

Beautiful hotel with amazing views to the Lake Arenal and the Volcano. The staff is outstanding and the food is delicious. It serves for family vacation, romantic getaway, hang out with your friends and just enjoy the beautiful nature and relax. Prices are quite affordable too.

Designed as a Swiss hotel and restaurant, located directly in front of the lake. The view is spectacular. They also have a really beautiful small church and cattle farm surrounding the hotel. A moving restaurant allows you to see at 360 degrees view of the lake and mountains (unique in Costa Rica).

Quiet and serene place. Great fun with kids on 4km train ride that goes high up the mountain for beautiful views of lake Arenal. Half an hour drive from hot springs in Arenal volcano. Highly recommended.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica. After spending time on the beach we decided we wanted to visit the mountain region of Lake Arenal. After making a wrong turn we ended up getting a bit lost and found ourselves on the road after dark with no lodging. As we came across Hotel Lost Heroes we decide to stop... More

After spending nearly a month in Costa Rica, we happened upon this incredible place and it turned out to be one of our favourite stops of all. Especially if you have children, it is captivating. It is a Swiss style chalet set on huge grounds including a dairy farm. We were given a large suite up the hill for $120... More

My friend and I stayed for one night and had three meals here. Our room was 400 m from the main hotel and we enjoyed the large space with huge bathroom and shower. The views from our deck were amazing. Make sure you ride the train to the top where you will have the opportunity to learn about the indigenous... More

We didn't stay at the hotel. We were staying at another hotel in La Fortuna, but were recommended the train tour. That is really beautiful and worthwhile! The views are spectacular, the train is original Swiss train, and the machinist is very friendly. At the top, you'll have the only rotational observatory in Central America, very nice views there. Highly... More

The only reason I didn't give this place the highest score was because the rooms, although really clean, had just the basics. Then again, for that price, I was already being spoiled. True Swiss people say it's like being in Switzerland. The owner even built a small train that takes you to the top of the mountain to a revolving... More

We didn't actually stay overnight here, as it was a stop along our way to catch a ferry to end up in Montezuma Beach later that night. However, it is a place that I would consider staying at for a future visit to CR. It was such a cute place, of true Swiss architecture and style. We stopped in for... More
