We had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks at the end of January 2021. This property is absolutely magnificent! Marianne, Jean, Manuel and the rest of the staff are just fabulous! From the seamless airport pick up to the beers and guacamole awaiting you in your room, perfection! They are a boutique hotel so they offer a wonderful wine list and a chef available to prepare your meals right in your casita. If that isn’t your thing, that is fine too. They have mastered the perfect balance of catering to your every need and yet leaving you on your own to enjoy all that La Cruz has to offer. We will absolutely be back. If you are travelling in December or January, take your binos because we saw whales every single day we were loving Simply Baku!❤️🇲🇽🐋

The views, the hospitality, the town, and the location of his gem of a hotel are NOT TO BE MISSED. Planning to return to this place again and again. The accommodations were very comfortable and charming. Huge beach is situated by a small public beach and a large government-protected beach on one side and a marina with a killer restaurant (easy walk from the Simply Baku) on the other side. The property is very private. My husband and I felt like superstars during our stay in late May. What ultimately sold us on booking this place was looking at location on Google satellite view. It gives you an idea of how large and price the spot is. We cancelled all the plans we made in PV proper on our second day. Can’t wait to go back!

We just returned from a 10 day stay and it was better than we imaged. Marianne and her staff made the stay wonderful. From the covid precautions, to the grounds, the casita on the beach with oceans waves and birds singing while laying in the hammock. We had everything needed to make a easy meal or walk to village for food and live music. Marianne was also helpful in giving recommendations of place to eat and visit.
We have been to La Cruz many times as previous home owners. I had walked by Simply Baku many times and staying there we so much better than seeing from the beach. The location is close to town but peaceful. The beach is also used by locals mostly on weekends adding to experience.
We felt very safe with Covid precautions during our entire stay. From mask wearing to taking temperature before entering places. Getting our covid test before returning the US was quick and easy. Can’t wait to return next year! Thank you Marianne and entire staff.

Simply Baku stole our hearts. It’s hard to explain how special this place is, but I’ll try. First, the location. If you’re interested in a place that is equal parts charming (but not cute), classy (without being pretentious) and authentic. This is the place for you. Second, the beach: unbeatable. Nestled between a beach club and a public beach. Third. The facilities. Thoughtfully / artfully appointed cabanas right on the beach. Lastly, and most importantly, the people. Marianne (the owner) and her staff (Manuel, Pilar and the whole crew) are attentive, thoughtful and don’t hesitate to go the extra mile for their guests. It’s not for everyone. No hustle. No forced fun. No open bar all you can drink/eat. Just beauty, charm and authenticity. Oh and you must like dogs. Pancho and Sushi (two lab mixes) are a combination hosts, security and entertainment.

This was our second stay at Simply Baku and it was every bit as great as the first! The accommodations and grounds are beautiful, perfectly set up for pandemic travel. Even if the property was at full capacity you still have lots of private spaces to relax. Marianne and her staff go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and more. From airport transportation, Covid testing, food delivery, everything was set up for us. We didn’t have to worry about anything. I seriously can’t say enough about the service. So, go ahead and book a stay here! And be sure to give the pups, Pancho and Sushi, a treat for me :)

great for swimming & snorkeling at the sea in front of the property; dining at the nearby marina or around La Cruz. Or just enjoying the seaview from your room/terrace sipping a margarita. The rooms/apt are beautiful and comfortable, the whole beans coffee rightly strong, a real gem

We come here as often as possible. The casitas are authentic elegant Mexico. The staff are friendly and discreet. Clean, beautiful and right on the beach! Marianne is a wonderful hostess. From pick up at the airport to the return every moment is a treasure.

We have stayed as Simply Baku four times and it is always fantastic. It was our first foray away from the all-inclusive hotels about a dozen years ago. Simply Baku is a really nice blend of privacy, independence, but with top-notch daily service. And, if you want it - fresh guacamole and salsa each day! We love the beautiful quiet beach view, the friendly laid-back town, the lush grounds, birds, and sunsets. We also like that each unit has a private terrace and dedicated outdoor seating under the palm trees or palapa. Definitely, no fighting for a lounge chair! Each casita has a nice little kitchen, but if you are not into cooking, there are lots of great places to eat in town or neighbouring towns.

Simply Baku is simply amazing! We thank the good Lord that we met Mariane at Tacos on the Street our first night in La Cruz. We had been invited to the Puerto Vallarta area to stay with a friend at his resort on the other side of La Cruz.
After two days of fun with our guest and his new gal pal at his resort things turned horribly bad as they turned into "control freak drill Sargent's". Mariane had made a Mexican business card for us on a napkin at tacos on the street with all of her contact information. We called her when our vacation turned into a terrible experience. She was kind enough to pick us up the next morning and drive us to her resort where we stayed the rest of our vacation in paradise!!
The guest cottages are beautifully designed and well laid out. We also had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Poncho her dog who is the 'Mayor' of the beach. Simply Baku is a paradise resort on the beach nestled between the local beach and the state of the art Marina and yacht club. Marianne and her staff pampered us and gave us a great vacation. We are forever grateful for her rescuing us and saving our vacation!!!
La Cuz is a quiet fishing village with 25 local restaurants, wonderful people and great culture. My wife and I will definitely be returning to Simply Baku to visit La Cruz and our Mexican dog. 🐕🌴☀️🌮

When you look thru the pictures of Simply Baku you will see the beauty of this place. From the furnishings and artwork to the beautiful beach steps from your casita you will not be disappointed. In January of 2016 my husband and I as well as our friends rented what I call the "duplex". There is an upper and lower unit attached. We had the upper unit and was pleasantly surprised how lovely it was decorated. You can tell Maryanne took great pains to make the unit very authentic looking, great wall art, water jugs, and right down to the drinking glasses were all Mexico based. Nothing was missed. Maryanne is a great hostess and her sidekick Poncho (the dog) is quite a character. She set us up with a great sunset cruise which I will remember for a long time. La Cruz is a great little town, safe with a surprisingly happening nightlife. We have been to La Cruz a number of times and now that we found Simply Baku, well I am sure that will be our home base any time we are in the area.

Hi, I am just now seeing your question. Baku is a short 5 minute walk from the Marina where you said your brother is staying on his boat. Tell me the dates you want to visit.

There is no need for a car. Buses run every few minutes and will take you to Punta Mita, Sayulita, Puerto Vallarta, Bucerias and San Pancho. Mega is a 15 minute bus ride but there are lots of great tiendas in La Cruz plus the fish market, a good butcher and a great selection of fruits and vegetables at the weekly market.
There are more places to choose from in the La Cruz de Huanacaxtle area.
