I booked two nights at this motel because it was the only place I could find in the St. John's area over Labour Day weekend for less than $100. It was only $79 per night and the reviews here were mixed, so I went there expecting the worst. I was driving in from out of town, so I even brought my own sheets and blanket in case the ones there were smelly or scratchy. However, when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was friendly and welcoming and although the building is old and the decor is slightly dated, it was actually really cozy. Flat screen TV, good water pressure in the shower, comfy bed, and the sheets were soft and clean. The location was also great - only 15 minutes from downtown, and there was a nice movie theatre right across the street. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit on a budget.

My dad and I stayed for a week while visiting family. We found it a bit hard to find the motel, as it was hidden in down a street and a small sign was all directing you. When we walked in, the service was great. We were checked in and given our room in no time. I had mixed feelings about our room. It was cleaned daily, when we left for an hour or two, we'd come back to made beds, new towels, and organized belongings. The housekeeper was hardworking and friendly. A downside was the size. The beds weren't very far apart and you would get minimum privacy. You could hear anything going on in the bathroom, but it was cozy and gave you a good feeling. It would be a place to consider if we return.

From my experience, I would recommend this motel to budget travelers needing to stay near St. John's. The service was questionable, and there is no WiFi available, but for $90 (taxes included), it's a reasonable deal. The fridge and microwave in the room make this a good choice for people traveling with a cooler and attempting to keep costs down. There was no breakfast included, but with the large number of fast food outlets in the area, that wasn't a big problem.

We had booked this motel for three nights over the internet, and on the net, the pictures do not look too bad. What a disappointment! This motel is about 40 years old, and looks every bit of its age and then some. When you enter the lobby, you are hit with a smell of "old'" and cigarettes! The carpet in our room was so filthy, I would not let my husband walk in bare feet on it! The side chair had so many stains on it that I put an extra pillow from the closet on it before I would even put my backpack on it! We were able to find another motel nearby for only a few dollars more, so believe me, we got out of there after only one night. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

OMG... this place is disgusting, rooms smelled of cat urine and cigeratte smoke. Bed linens were not even changed from the previous guests who stayed there. They brought clean linens and remade the beds but needless to say we didn't get much sleep and as soon as dawn broke we were out of there. If you are considering booking here think long and hard before you make that decision.

The service here is great. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. Could leave as often as you like and come back late. Most places don't let you do that. We had a great stay here. Can't wait to do it again.

I took my son here for a night out with mommy last year. It was a nice quiet hotel in a good location. The price was decent and the rooms were clean. We had zero problems here and very much enjoyed our stay. Would go again.

Myself & my husband stayed at the cozy cabin for 2 weeks this month, It was one of our best trips to nfld, where we are from originally.
The staff treated us nice & the manager, Don went out of his way to meet our every need.
The place is clean, The grounds are absolutely beautiful & it is close to everything.
Would be my first choice of a place to stay again if we come back on vacation.
Highly recommend.
