Loved this beautiful accommodation! The room was huge and extremely clean. The stone bathtub was to die for. It was the perfect little romantic getaway with my partner. Had gorgeous views over looking the lake. After our wine tour in the area we got to enjoy our purchases on the balcony with a cheeseboard with some ducks swimming through the lake. Very quiet and perfect for some R&R! Will definitely come again.

My husband and I shared a wonderful baby moon at the boat houses. It was so relaxing and recharging and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The rooms were stunning and it felt like our own private oasis. The bed was so comfortable and the bath was superb. We loved sitting out on our private deck overlooking the lotus lake. Looking forward to staying again.

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a wedding. For $350/night you get to stay in a shack on a swamp. At night the frogs are so loud you can’t sleep, there’s mosquitoes everywhere. There are no proper blinds or curtains so you don’t get to enjoy a sleep in or much privacy. Our bathroom didn’t even have a proper mirror or place to hang towels. The toilet is open so you can watch your partner use it whilst you lay in bed. There’s also no breakfast included and they don’t clean your room during the day. Lucky we didn’t bring our young child to stay with us as she wouldn’t have slept a wink. One of the owners was really rude but the other manager was really nice.
Wouldn’t recommend at all.

If, while staying in the Hunter Valley, you require detached accommodation extending over a pond this may be just the place for you. However, you may wish to consider something else if:
a) you expect any sort of welcome. After dark there is no lighting whatsoever marking the property or on the property itself. Driving to the accommodation is in pitch black with no lighting even to mark the front door.
b) you value function/comfort as mush as style. No doubt, the rooms and pond make for attractive Instagram photos; however, the oversize Balinese bench seating is just that, there is no comfortable way to lie in the oversize bath, the oversize wooden doors leading to the deck obscure the view of the pond from inside the main room, and oversize lampshades leave little usable space on the bedside tables, etc.
It is some years since my wife and I craved the degree of intimacy guaranteed by absence of a door between the bed and the toilet.
c) you are staying for just one night. With 3pm check-in and 10am checkout (contrary to the 11am checkout quoted on L&F’s website), and no food available on site, there is little time to do anything other than go out for dinner and sleep before leaving the next day.
Comparing our experience with those of reviewers over prior years, it seem the operator has lost interest in ensuring the first class experience suggested by a $440/night rate.

4 Couples go away on a winery experience every year. We travelled from Victoria and were extremely disappointed in this property. The units were very average and way overpriced. $380.00 per night, no breakfast, no cleaning. We stayed at Spices the night before for less money including a fantastic breakfast with inclusions that made it for a great stay. This property gave us nothing, except for a huge price. Really annoyed.

My partner and I stayed with them for 2 nights. Unfriendly staff made us feel like they were doing us a favour. Bedroom is not cleaned or made up during your stay. We spilled some tea on the bed and they wanted to charge us to change the sheet! You’re staying over a stagnant lake, so if you don’t enjoy lots of flying and crawling insects rather avoid the accommodation. You’ll also need a torch as there is no lighting outside the rooms.

Had a two night stay in these magical boat houses. It was a very pleasant experience, I would recommend for any couples get away. Accomodation was very clean and the boathouse itself had gorgeous rustic interior!! We added the extra breakfast for both mornings which was great so we didn’t have to eat out for every single meal while we were away. Also booked a table at their lovely restaurant and the food was seriously delicious. Location is only 9 minutes from wineries and very convenient! Would recommend to all my friends both the boat houses and restaurant.

Celebrated my mother's 70th birthday here. Atmosphere, service and food was fabulous. Would highly recommend for a special occasion. Prices are slightly above average but certainly not out of the ball park.

Food is always consistent and reliable.I regularly go for lunch with a golfing mate. It is always enjoyable with great service and good wine. I took a group of visitors from Melbourne and everyone enjoyed their meal.A very pleasant verandah setting next to a large dam provides a great ambience for lunch. One of the better Hunter establishments
