Unfortunately because of mechanical problems we arrived way too late to take advantage of the complementary shuttle.
Upon checking in there were no extra available rooms as the hotel is 100% filled.
Four of us shared a 1 bedroom suite and the staff helped us out immensely with blankets, pillows, etc.
The complementary breakfast in the morning included an omelette station and waffles.
It was very quiet, clean, and extremely convenient to the airport.

This hotel is perfect for one night in San Jose if you are arriving late. We stayed on our arrival and again before our departure back to the United States. The check-in process was a breeze and by using the Marriott Bonvoy app we were able to completely skip the front desk. The mobile key was convenient although it gave us trouble in the elevator during our first stay. But no worries, it was easy to figure out.
Our rooms were spotless. I clean everywhere I go to be cautious but the two rooms we stayed in were the cleanest I have ever seen. The water was hot and the rain showerhead felt fantastic after long travel days. We did not take advantage of nearly enough of their amenities but we did manage to order room service through Centro which was delicious for hotel quality food and the man that delivered our food was friendly. I would also like to applaud the speediness and cleanliness of the free airport shuttles. These run every thirty minutes and the pick up location at the airport is in front of the Malinche Restaurant.
The only thing that disappointed me was that the mattress was a bit on the firm side. I managed to sleep well but it could use a bit more cushion. Overall, we will stay here the next time we plan on visiting Costa Rica.

We arrived into San Jose late, and were able to find the Courtyard shuttle driver easily. Check-in was quick and efficient, and our room was large and clean.
Marriott is obviously trying to "go green." I was pleased to see large, fixed bottles of shampoo and conditioner, instead of the usual small plastic bottles that end up in the ocean or landfill. The bed was very comfortable.
One request to Marriott (and probably other hotels): you have placed adjustable shower heads in all the Bonvoy hotels I have stayed in recently. Unfortunately, I can't adjust them, because I am only five feet tall. I estimated I would have to be at least 5'5". The only way I can adjust the shower head is to stand on the edge of the bathtub (if there is one) or pull a chair into the bathroom. Dangerous and inconvenient. Shout out to hotel chains: there are a lot of us short people out here!
Breakfast was adequate, and there was plenty of fresh tropical fruit and great Costa Rican coffee. This will be our airport hotel of choice on our frequent trips to Costa Rica.

This hotel is more or less exactly what you would expect from a Courtyard by Marriott. It was in good condition, clean, service was fine but nothing special, restaurant food was unexceptional and expensive.
On the plus side, it is very convenient to the airport, and the free shuttle comes about every 30 minutes. They also have free parking, which is great if you rent a car, as we did.
The only negative thing worth noting is that we are Bonvoy members, and when we first checked in we were given what must be one of the worst rooms in the entire hotel, on the second floor right above the entranceway, directly next to the elevator, and right across the hall from the door to the gym and the pool. We heard enough noise in the first 20 minutes that we requested to change the room. Another room was available, and we were moved up to the sixth floor where we had no problems. Now I understand that rooms are assigned based on availability, and someone has to get that lousy room next to the elevator, pool, etc. But it's probably fairly easy to flag the "undesirable" rooms in the computer so you don't give them to your Bonvoy members by default, at least when another room is available. Just something to consider.

This is a well run hotel property that understands travelers needs. The rooms are immaculate and the hotel offers security feature that only permits guests to enter the floor that contains their room or the pool/ gym area. Apparently this is concern in San Jose (I have been told) . The front desk is professional, courteous, multi lingual and very caring. I loved my short stay here. Breakfast buffet was truly delicious and offered Costa Rica's tropical fruits as well as an all you can eat buffet. It was a great deal!

We decided to stay at the airport Courtyard because we were catching an early flight to Panama, it’s definitely not the cheapest hotel but with a 5:00 am flight and typical “big city” safety concerns we thought it to be the best option for us. After a long day of driving from Quepos we arrived tired and hungry. The front desk was being manned by a man named Eric. I must say that Eric is fantastic, by far one of the best front desk experiences I have had in an hotel anywhere in the world. Our interaction was a standard “check-in” situation but Eric went above and beyond. He was genuine, kind, and really helpful. The hotel was great, exactly what you would expect from a Marriott but the service from Eric and the restaurant staff was more that I expected. It’s employees like him that keep me going back to Marriott and it’s partners.

Stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon before flying out the following morning. Lourdes at the front desk made our stay extra special by arranging for us to have robes, chocolates and chocolate pistachio covered strawberries brought to our room. This was such a kind gesture and made the end of our honeymoon/transition to reality a little easier! Restaurants across the road, walmart across the road if needed as well as restaurant/cafe on site. Airport shuttle starting at 0430, only took 5 minutes to get to airport. Great spot to stay if flying in/out of SJO!

The property, the customer service, and the food exceeds our expectations in every way. It was a short one night stay and the staffs made the stay so much enjoyable and pleasant. Marriott did an excellent job on keeping the place clean and COVID safe. The staffs at the front desk and the restaurants are always helpful, friendly and professional. The housekeeper keeps the room spotlessly clean. The bed is very comfortable by US standard (solid, supportive yet not too hard).
The food is well priced (fresh, perfectly cooked dinner under $10USD) and the dinner was so tasty and comforting after a long flight. The breakfast has good variety (yummy egg options, meats, fresh fruit, chai seed pudding, salad and many more).
They also provide info and assistance to help booking COVID test which is required prior to the flight to the States. (note: COVID test is also available at San Jose Airport (SJO) 24/7.
We stayed at this hotel both the day we arrived SJO and the day prior to departure after traveling RC for 2 weeks. The services, cleanliness and food consistently exceeds our expectation. A solid hotel to stay in San Jose for us. We will return in the future : )

A easy shuttle ride from the airport made this hotel a no brainer choice. After a delayed flight and a kufuffle at the airport with the health inspection QR code we were glad to settle in for the night.
We were greeted like family by the receptionist and as a platinum member we chose the extra points versus the discount off of a meal.
Our room was as expected, clean and easy to navigate. Breakfast in the morning is a Buffet that either can be included in the room or US$16 per person. A good choice if you are hungry and enjoy eggs, pastries, fruit, add more.
The gym and pool are sufficient for a typical work out. The pool is not heated so unless it’s warm it was too cold for my taste.
The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the airport. It’s next-door to a Walmart if you need supplies. The other surroundings are a shantytown neighborhood. Nothing too exciting.
Note to Marriott elite members: avoid mobile check-in since they cannot give you an upgraded room.
Note to travelers: avoid taking a taxi and pay extra dollars and wait for the shuttle at the end of the arrival exit.

Our family of 4 stayed one night after arriving to SJO on a late flight from the US. The staff was extremely pleasant every time we interacted with them and the room was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with made to order omelets, waffles and pancakes. The only negative was that they were not running the airport shuttle when we arrived. The receptionist did send a taxi but proceeded to charge us for it even though it appeared to be the same shuttle that was running the next morning.
Side note, there is a Walmart conveniently within walking distance that we took advantage of to do some shopping before heading out of town
