In 2014 I was traveled with my mother to Calabria on a tour hosted by Chef Mark McDonald of Ole Vine Cafe and Chef John Nocita of The Italian Culinary Institute. This was one of the hotels that we stayed in for an extended time. The grounds were beautiful with stunning views of the sea from the room and all...

I have stayed at this hotel before, and returned for a visit recently. The grounds and the views have always been the draw here for me, while the rooms have always been clean and adequate for a 3 star by Italian standards. On this stay I noticed a major improvement in my guest room as if it had been recently...

Reading these reviews, I had to ask myself again and again "Did I stay at the same place as these people???" The pictures are accurate, the views from the hotel are absolutely gorgeous. The upper portions of the hotel used for weddings and other events are well maintained and beautiful. Even the rooms in the upper portion of the hotel...

My first trip ever to Italy happily dovetailed with the wedding of my cousin and his Italian sweetheart. Let's start with the location, high on a hill looking down to the Ionian sea breathtaking! The actual complex is a wedding, conference and cookery school setup with rooms. The staff at the Baia dell est were fantastic, polite, professional and very...

Cost effective solution for persons who wish to enjoy nature and sea. Excellent hospitality by the hotel maitre Patrick: always available to help in any need you may have. Cost effective solutions, especially for families due to the size of rooms, some of them having also helpful facilities like cooking machine and washing machine. All the rooms have a nice...

We were there for three nights and were guests at a wedding there. The setting is wonderful. The food for the wedding was excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful (although not everyone speaks perfect English - you are in the south of Italy after all). The restaurant was closed (i think it is only open in July and...

While traveling with a group in 2012, I stayed at this hotel for nine nights. Our room was adequate, and comfortable by European three star standards. What made this room amazing was the panoramic view of the Ionian Sea and Coastline. All of the rooms here offer an outdoor patio area with this amazing view. I would wake in the...

I have stayed at Baia Dell'Est twice -- once in 2011 and again in 2013. Rooms are simple but clean, and the staff are very pleasant. Hands down this hotel has the BEST room views of any hotel I've ever stayed at. I've now stayed on both sides of the property, and each faces directly out over the Ionian Sea....

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff have no manners. The hotel is so dirty that I actually had bed bugs. I've stayed in hotels in third world countries that are cleaner and better. The only thing his place going for it is the view. But it's not worth staying here to see it....

This is not an hotel but just a wedding venue with some rooms. We spent 2 nights and managed to get only few hours’ sleep due to the loud music played at the wedding receptions (2 each day), the fireworks shot from the terrace above our rooms at 12.30 at night (again, the weddings) and due to an open air...
