The hotel is very simple. 7days same breakfast and i mean..same breakfast. No buffet, only same bread, same cornflakes, same nature joghurt, same marmelade, same juice etc. Each days!!! The room is cozy but little and the shower has no border means you have to clean it during you take the shower. After cleaning service in the morning the room smells bad because there is not enough fresh air and you understand that they do not use good cleaning products. The food of the restaurant is cooked like in Neverland of Peter Pan means a lot of diffrent colors in the plate but without good taste. Very special. Also the quality is not fresh, the vegetables seems to come from deep cooler. Service is veeeeeryyyy slow and not organized. The chairs looks nice with all the colors but the quality is very bad. They shake and during you eat you have the feeling you will fall down very soon. Wlan is very slow and not everywhere available. The price is too expensive for what you receive. In general, i do not recommend Corsica for poeple who likes to enjoy food, vine and nice service. Doesn't matter where you go to eat or to stay...you can feel that the poeple who are working are not leaving on the island (saisonal employees). They do not care if you come again and this is reflected in their work. You do not feel welcome. Very sad when you see the beauty of the nature and the big potential of this island. Maybe one day it changes, i wish it for everyone!

Hello Julia, we feel flattered to be the inspiration of your first commentary on tripadvisor! Your style seems to be promising. But the question is: what did we do right to finally deserve 2/5? Thank you for your encouragement. However be careful when generalising and judging. Toute l'équipe de l'Escale

We have stayed several times at this hotel in the past 7 years and the new owners have really improved it tremendously this year. The location is still the best we have seen in all our travelling years, right on the beach and within walking distance of beaches, trails, town, restaurants...

It’s our second time in Corsica as we had such a great time at l’Escale last time we decided to give it another go... Everything was just superb, they fully refurbished the rooms in-between our stays and they were stunning, our room has a beautiful balcony and a life-saving AC unit (was 37 outside in the afternoon). The restaurant had some pleasant changes as well (more room outside just by the beach) and the meals were authentic and well executed. The service was friendly and efficient. We were also please to discover that the place is family-run by the parents and 2 brothers which add so much charm. Definitely recommend it and we will for sure be back!

We have stayed here for our holiday, fo many years. Family run hotel, which has been much improved in the last 3 years. Staff are very helpful and pleasant, and nothing is too much trouble. Situated on the beach this is a little gem.

After a long day of hiking, we found this great place right by the beach. Nice food and incredible staff in a very relaxed atmosphere. We would have loved to stay longer but the Mare e Monti was calling again today.
