A night out with work colleagues, great service and the food was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and we couldn't fault anything. We all ordered from the bar menu rather than the restaurant menu as we preferred the food choices. Lovely homely pub and would definitely go back again.

Popped in over Xmas after a long walk and was very disappointed as all the tables in the bar were reserved. When we took a few chairs from a table reserved for 45 minutes later we were told by the barmaid that unless we put them back...we would be evicted!!! Really...?!? Surely if people want to reserve tables they should...

I was travelling on business and chose to stay at The Red Lion due to it being only 6 miles out of Swindon town. What a find. I wish I was staying here on a leisure break rather than on business. I was greeted at the bar by a very hospitable lady who showed me to my room which was...

Had a meal with the family ,had a drink in the bar first l did think £8.50 for a large gin and tonic was expensive, especially when it was only house gin .The restaurant was lovely ,my meal was delicious, the men had 2rib eye steaks which were of poor quality and very small. We never complain as we do not want to...

Old fashion traditional English pub, fantastic atmosphere with table in front of the fireplace, excellent solution for a simple dinner with colleagues. Good house brewed beer also. Food simple but good quality Recommended

Special birthday meal for my partner, never been before, succumbed to the online menu choice particularly the fish choices. On arrival bar area nicely warm and heated by a roaring log fire, so far so good. Directed to our table in the restaurant and sat by a very cold window, had to keep coats on and after ordering had to...

The Red Lion is the archetypal English country pub - right down to the roaring fire and boarder collie asleep in the bar when I visited! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and first-rate food and drink. Despite being close to the centre of the village, the room - located in an annex out the back - was quiet, clean, comfortable and...

We stayed one night for a family reunion using 3 of the bedrooms, one being dog friendly. Everyone in our group thought the accommodation very comfortable. We have stayed before several times but not in the past 3 years and glad to say that little has changed in that we received a very friendly welcome and efficiency from staff throughout....

This nice pub with rooms are really worth all the positive reviews they have. Me and my husband stayed here for one night, enjoyed their craft beers and also had a very nice dinner in the restaurant. Both the pub and the restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere. Our room was large and had everything we needed for...

While hiking the Thames Path, we stayed in the Red Lion in Cricklade. It's on the path, and the combination of historic pub/inn and operating brewery had us intrigued. It didn't disappoint in any way. The old-fashioned pub has lots of atmosphere and was full have guests on Saturday night. Dining is available in a separate room as well as...
