We booked a night away under the autumn spa package as we'd had a tough couple of months and wanted something to cheer us up. We turned up and were treated so lovely, nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel so special. We have done nothing but talk about our stay since we've returned home, from the...

We went to Barnsley House for my husband's birthday and had a lovely experience all round. What stands out is the service. There are many lovely similar hotels throughout the Cotswolds, indeed the UK, and often it is the service which disappoints and fails to make up for lovely surroundings. Not so at Barnsley House. All our arrangements were honoured,...

We were very lucky to have Barnsley House be our introduction to the Cotswolds in late September. It is the most gorgeous, tastefully renovated country home to serve as a small boutique hotel. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic. The rooms are stunning…..very cool decor…...very comfortable and luxurious. While there are all the modern amenities…the architectural integrity is still...

The staf is amazing, the food is really good, the rooms are spectacular, I stayed with my family there after a long trip around Europe and it was the most beautiful and relaxing place. The service is one of the best services I've received in Europe. Simply amazing!

This Hotel will not disappoint - The service is probably among the best we've ever received from any UK hotel. The greeting was warm & professional and bar & waiting staff very friendly but highly proficient. The food from The Potager restaurant is fabulous and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The gardens are beautiful, even in January...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Barnsley House is your very own (fully staffed) country house set in extensive landscaped gardens near Cirencester in Gloucestershire. The Hotel has a dedicated spa, private cinema and 18 large and luxurious bedrooms to choose from. The Potager restaurant looks out to the gardens and is quite lovely. Sprigs of rosemary and linen napkins dress the tables with menus inspired from the Barnsley garden seasonal crops and local produce. If you tire of the daily home baked bread and crumbly shortbread biscuits with your afternoon tea, you can always nip across the road to our village pub. It's actually called 'The Village Pub' and delivers everything you want a village pub to deliver - open fires, papers, pints and delicious food! ... more   less
