The suites, the nature, the restaurant... The lodge in the cloud forest north of San Jose is amazing, with wonderful suites, and the meals at the restaurant Las Ventanas where I ate during two days were excellent. Great art from the young chef Andres Melendez !

Thanks apelouas for taking the time to celebrate your favorite experiences during your stay at El Silencio Lodge & Spa. We are thrilled to offer such an intensely relaxing and nature-bonded sanctuary so close to Costa Rica's capital city. And thank you so much for underscoring Chef Carlos Andrés as a superbly talented culinary master. He is a true artist!

Beautiful unique environment. Enjoyed yoga and massages here. Fine, modern dining for dinner. Staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Loved the hot tub right off of our room. Did not encounter the heating problems mentioned by other reviewers. Just be patient. It may take a couple of hours to get so warm you can't stand it...and we find most...

Greetings AFVcliff! Delighted to read your beautiful review. As you describe, the El Silencio Lodge & Spa experience is the best way to let the unique mystique of the Costa Rican cloud forest transport you to a pure wellness state of mind. I wish your stay hadn't coincided with an extreme weather front. Perhaps next time you will have the...

My wife and I had an excellent stay at El Silencio for four nights at the tail-end of our Costa Rican honeymoon. The drive up from San Jose can get a little "interesting", especially on the foggy and narrow mountain roads where mudslides occasionally occur, but the hotel's drivers are excellent well-trained, and provide a lot of interesting cultural tidbits...

Hotel was amazing and service was top notch. Only thing disappointing was the adventure tours that they offer. Was told at the tour reservations desk that their ziplining and rappelling tour would be exciting. Turned out to be extremely boring . Way better off going somewhere in Arenal.

Greetings Sean and thanks for highlighting our amazing facilities and top notch services. We appreciate your feedback about our Adventure Park, although we were a bit surprised that you did not find it exciting. The adventure entails intense hiking through pristine cloud forest to enjoy 4 rappels and 4 zip lines. Rappelling lines let thrill seekers cascade down the very...

This is a perfect retreat from the world in a lush cloud forest with dense vegetation and numerous waterfalls. There's hiking, horseback riding, a spa for activities. Executive chef Carlos Audres makes dining a special and personalized experience. Costa Rica is not known for its cuisine but El Silencio is the exception. A hideaway for nature lovers.

Thrilled to have delighted an enthusiastic foodie! It was a pleasure to be your hosts Mauimolly. Our Chef Carlos Andres has taken our farm-to-table concept to new nights. His in-depth knowledge of Costa Rica's traditions and passion for flavor is truly smile-inducing. Thanks for celebrating his signature flair.

El Silencio was a truly beautiful place with wonderful food, a fantastic setting, and great service. The villas were almost over-the-top nice, really unexpected for a place so remote. Big space, comfortable sitting area, private hot tub, robes and towels to die for. Big umbrellas always available for the pretty much constant precipitation. A beautiful front porch with rocking chairs...
