Fantastic getaway with a beautiful mountain view, quiet and cosy relaxation. The host was amazing, kind and generous women that was willing to help with all our requests. 10/10 would most definitely go there again.
We had a truly fantastic stay here! The location is amazing with lots of surrounding valleys to explore by foot, and lots of gorgeous Icelandic horses too. The cabin itself was just perfect and had a front decking looking out on the mountains and valleys, such comfortable beds and an amazing bathroom and kitchenette. Only a two and a half hour drive from the airport it’s the ideal place to start or end your Icelandic trip in a truly picturesque location, not to mention the lovely owner who was so helpful and welcoming and told us all about the “must see” spots nearby and told us the history of the accommodation. Lovely breakfast too! We would highly recommend staying here, we wished we had booked to stay for longer.
While it was off the beaten trail, the hosts were excellent. Talk to them; you'll learn tons. Upon our request, they woke us up to see the Northern lights. There are three separate, well-equipped cabins. Ideally you'd spend two nights there so you'd have hiking time.
First of all, this hotel is off the beaten trail. It is at the end of a valley and it is quiet. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and green fields, as well as curious sheep, it is a stunning landscape. There are three cottages here, they are all small but well laid out, all things considered. The nicest part of the cottages are their patios. Each has a private patio affording wonderful views of the valley. The owner is a wonderful woman who was kind and caring. She even had cheese sandwiches and traditional dried fish for us when we arrived. A nice touch.
Dalahyttur Lodge is nicely locate in the "middle of nowhere", which was exactly what we were looking for. The host is very friendly and gave us lots of tips about the area. The studio is rather small but very clean and nicely furnished. Would definitly recommend for a stay on Snaefellsness Peninsula
