Loved our stay at Vogur, staff were amazing and very helpful. Room was lovely and clean. The food was delicious. The sauna was brilliant. Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone visiting west Iceland.
While a bit isolated this Inn is a delightful respite as you travel to/from western Iceland or are visiting the Visiting the nearby Viking museum. It is a well run inn with home-style dinners that are sophisticated and well prepared. Tereza, The hotel manager (and chef) was determined to make our stay memorable and issue-free. We had a delightful stay coupled with the sighting of the northern lights hovering over the Inn, making it most memorable. Were we to return to Iceland we would surely make our way back to this country inn!
I had a large room in the annex with fantastic sea view. The design is modern with a few minor practical flaws (like no place for toiletries in the bathroom) . The combined restaurant and lounge area features comfortable leather armchairs, the dinner and breakfast were generous and good, the staff was helpful and friendly. I wish I had stayed longer to enjoy the pristine surroundings.
We booked this hotel on purpose because it was supposed to be in the middle of nowhere, and that really was the case. There are no services, restaurants etc. anywhere close by. But as long as you know that it should not be an issue. The room on the second floor of the main building was spacious, seemed quite new, and had character due to the inclined roof and skylight. Very modestly decorated, but all you need. To compensate for the lack of other services the hotel has good restaurant, which was also reasonably priced and the food was really nice. The surroundings are really nice and offer nice outdoor options.
very nice and friendly staff! the superior room is nice and clean and quite big. we had good food for dinner - cod with sweet potato mash and the brownies. all in all real good value for money in iceland. but you should change the plastic cups inn the bathroom.
