Jamie (manager) and staff go out of their way to make your stay amazing. Surprises that get you closer to animals, culture and enlighten your entire experience. They know every detail of your trip down to food you dislike. To our surprise they found out we didn't like mayo and prepared alternate dishes for us without asking. Random bush breakfasts,...

We stayed 3 nights in Loisaba Lodge during our honeymoon trip beginning of June 2013. Our room had a fantastic view, the surroundings of the lodge are beautiful. Yussef, our guide, was the best. We do have some critic points to share, in the hope for improvement. Service at the lodge can be slow and neglecting, food is generally not...

We travelled to laikipia in late June 2013. Although I was initially a bit perturbed that the game vehicles were rather old Land Rovers, they proved well maintained and well up to the very tough terrain. In fact the windscreen had been raised so that even sitting higher than the driver, we were largely protected from wind when driving. This...

In February 2013, I spent just under a week at Loisaba. It was mind-blowing. The staff was amazingly kind, helpful, happy, and I learnt a lot about everything from wildlife to culture during my stay. The rooms and infrastructure were impeccable - my room had a stunning view and the pool area (including the hammock, petanque area and tennis court)...

Loisaba was an alternative location for us as Kitich was inaccessible due to rains. An altitude lodge set high on the plateau. Rooms are comfortable but on the small size. The bedroom is adequate and bathroom is large. The balcony overlooking the plateau doubles as an outside lounge with a large "double-bed" couch and easy chairs. We were frequented by...

Our first visit to Africa and after a night in Nairobi, we flew in to Loisaba. Met at the airstrip by the Loisaba team, the fantastic experience started right there. (We used http://www.scenicairsafaris.com/, a brilliant tour company which will make you travel truly in style and comfort) Our Guide and driver, Lawrence, was key to the trip. First, he does...

A group of 8 of us just spent 10 spectacular days at Loisaba. It was the experience of a lifetime. The service was perfect. The food makes my mouth water even now. The lodging was luxurious and rustic at once. We spent our days on early morning game drives, horseback riding along side zebras and giraffes, on quads exploring the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unique to Loisaba, the Starbeds are a truly memorable African experience. Handcrafted four-poster beds with wheels, are rolled out onto raised wooden platforms so that guests sleep under the endless African night sky. The Starbeds overlook Kiboko waterhole, home to resident hippo and frequented by passing animals. The main area consists of an open lounge and communal dining area (private dining available). Guests are guided and hosted by a team of traditional Samburu and Laikipiak Maasai warriors. The 56,000 acre private Loisaba Conservancy is outstandingly beautiful, with abundant wildlife. The Conservancy is famous for its elephant population, as well as big cats and the endangered Wild Dog. ... more   less
