The Sands was a beautiful and convenient stop over on our recent snowmobile trip. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed everything about the property, including the spa! Great meals, attentive, friendly staff, and owners, It was obvious that everyone working at the property wanted to ensure a great guest experience. Our room was clean, neat and tidy, and had a comfortable bed. We highly recommend this property! The spa services was a highlight for me, and part of the reason we chose this property. I was not disappointed! The spa is located in a small building with a beautiful view of the lake. Spa staff are wonderful, and the services I experienced were absolutely excellent.

Had a wonderful girls' weekend at Sands on Golden Lake this past weekend. Sylvie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and helped us find our way around. We stayed in a double-queen room and it was large and welcoming with a gorgeous view of the lake outside large windows. The beds were extremely comfortable and although it was a chilly weekend, we could adjust the temperature to suit us. We spent quite a bit of time at the restaurant, and all the meals we had were delicious, served quickly, and the serving staff were very pleasant. The floor manager, Bonnie, checked our vaccination records very efficiently when we entered the first time. The owners (Joanne and Zach) spent quite a bit of time with us and made sure that we were having a good time. Kaylib was a first-time server and he was very friendly and served us efficiently and promtly. The spa is a very lovely little building on the beach and I would highly recommend Gwen (The massage therapist)! There was entertainment on the Saturday night, a local celebrity (Roddy Piper), and the music was lively and covered country and popular songs. He encouraged us to join in and get up and dance! All in all, I would highly recommend a weekend or longer at the Sands on Golden Lake. I will come back in the summer to check out the beautiful sandy beach.

This is a beautiful spot right on Golden Lake that will totally relax you. The staff ( Zack and his family ) with welcome you with open arms and make you feel at home. The view from our was spectacular and located just above the beach. The room was large, very stylish and very clean with comfy beds. The food, although a limited menu, was very good, the sands burger was my choice, excellent. The complimentary breakfast was all we needed to get us going satisfied. We came here in the fall but we will definitely be back in the summer. Steve s.

Beautiful beach on a northern lake with hard sand bottom and shallow entry. That's so rare in that part of the province! Great food, friendly staff. Could use a bit of paint on the outside, but this is northern Ontario. Most importantly, rooms were modern and clean. Was only 6 minutes from Camp Red Pine where we attended a wedding. Would definitely recommend.

We spent two nights here and did appreciate having a room that looked over the lake and the beach. The food was good and on the mornings that breakfast was not served a "grab and go" breakfast was provided. Staff were very friendly. Our room was far too small to be comfortable. We wish we had asked more questions about our assigned room before coming.

Was expecting a quiet getaway. Didn't realize that there would be so many snowmobilers. Heard engines revving and snowmobilers whizzing by the restaurant hotel and spa and the smell of gas fumes during the day. Hotel close to busy road as well. Everybody was respectful and nights were quiet. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean and warm. Overall ok, but a bit of a let down.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. This time of year is snowmobile season and as such, many of our guests staying with us come by snowmobile. We appreciate your feedback, and hope that you will consider staying with us another time.

Stayed here at The Sands for three wonderful nights this weekend. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make our visit wonderful. Our room was conveniently located at parking lot level, steps from the restaurant. This was perfect as hubby uses a walker. The lake views from our room and the restaurant were beautiful. Our room was very clean and comfy with a large balcony perfect for viewing the sunsets on the lake. The hotel is fairly quiet and laid back. Thanks to the great kitchen staff and servers who kept us well fed with delicious meals. The housekeeping, front desk and maintenance staff do a great job of keeping everything ship shape and spotless. The beach was sandy and inviting, grounds beautifully maintained. First visit but I hope we can stop by on another road trip exploring our beautiful province. Great big thank you to the hardworking people who gave us a wonderful much appreciated weekend in a little corner of paradise.

Second time at sands at golden lake and loved it same as last time. Very relaxing. Nice and clean room. They followed covid protocol so no housekeeping but it was ok as we were only there for two nights. Water was amazing. They have kayak and Canoe rental at very reasonable cost but we only found at the very end of your trip. It’s ok we will be back.
