Set in stunning Worcestershire countryside with great views towards Worcester and the Cotswold Hills beyond, The Admiral Rodney at Berrow Green is a classic Worcestershire country inn. After extensive refurbishment in 2018 we now offer 6 luxury en-suite bedrooms (most with great country views), two bars and a 60 seat restaurant. Our food is already getting great reviews. It's focused on fresh, local produce and constantly changes, offering a great selection from pub classics to more extravagant dishes. We have a great selection of real ales and ciders, as well as an extensive and eclectic wine list.

Detailed Reviews
This was our first visit to the Admiral Rodney following a recommendation from a friend. The tables were well spaced to take into account the new social distancing regulations & hand sanitiser readily available. The eat out to help out menu offers three courses for £10.00 (after discount) which was very good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, my sea bream with a tartlet of ratatouille was excellent as was my husbands belly pork dish & their offer to bag the desserts to take home was a nice gesture. We will definitely return.

I would highly recommend the Admiral Rodney it has everything you need for a n enjoyable and relaxing stay.
The bedroom is comfortable with a spacious bed and a good selection of tea and coffee making facilities with delicious homemade cookies.
The bathroom was roomy with all mod cons, the property was clean throughout.
All the staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive.
The evening menu was not extensive but the food itself good quality and well cooked, the breakfast was exceptionally tasty.
The overall ambience was relaxing a great place for couples or special occasions.
My only suggestion would be perhaps dimmer lighting in the bar area which was abit bright which would make it more intimate but a very minor detail really.
We Will definitely be making a return visit , it's 9.5 rating is well deserved.

Lovely location. Large parking area. Excellent welcome and shown to my room, not just pointed in the right direction. Finn the young man behind the bar was exceptional and helped me with my case as I have some mobility issues.
The room was immaculate and the bsthroom was amazing - I thought it must have all been new but it's actually 3 years since its refurb. Large walk in shower and loads of space. Shampoo, Conditioner and hand soap supplied.
Comfy bed and spotless linen.
Free wifi
Alarm clock
Tea and coffee making facilities.
Hairdryer
All provided.
I had bacon burger and chips for evening meal - great helpings.
There was a good selection for breakfast.
I have given it 4 stars but with a couple if tweaks it could be 5.
These are not complaints but just suggestions to make things even better for guests.
1. I was surprised to see that none of the staff were wearing face coverings. Although it's no longer mandatory it might be prudent for them to do so given the description of being "Covid safe."
2. A mirror would be helpful close to where the hairdryer plugs in.
3. Whilst the shower was lovely it was very slippery once it got wet. Maybe there might be some way of adding something to make it less so or at least installing something to hang on to so as to reduce risk of accidents.
4.They had run out of white bread at breakfast.
5.The smoked streaky bacon in the burger was mainly slimy fat so I didn't have it at breakfast the next morning. Everywhere else I have ever stayed has used back bacon.
One other slight criticism would be that the dining area is in the same vicinity as the bar where there were several locals drinking, swearing and burping loudly. I appreciate it is a pub but it was off putting and a shame that the two areas couldn't be more seperate.
Overall it is a very nice place with an excellent hard working young team. I would visit again but perhaps eat elsewhere in the evening.

If anyone is planning on doing a UK staycation, I’d highly recommended The Admiral Rodney Worcester.
The accommodation is absolutely lovely, staff are brilliant, food in the restaurant is absolutely top class & the drinks selection is awesome.
We stayed in on of the garden room lodge’s which was quite spacious enough to fit two double beds into the room. And In the room itself there was a flat screen TV, tea & coffee making products with a kettle & in addition to the kettle was a Nespresso coffee making machine with more than enough capsules for several individuals which was also topped up each day if you wanted the housekeeping to tidy the room & replenish stocks of milk, tea, coffee, sugar & sweeteners.
Breakfast which was included in the hotel stay package for us is absolutely lovely & it consists of cereals, toast, preserves, marmalade, full English breakfast which appears to be locally sourced free range eggs, bacon, sausages & black pudding. The eggs are cooked to your personal preference too as poached, fried or scrambled eggs.
The options in the restaurant in evening are good & it’s not too expensive. We had the crispy tiger prawns & dips for starters, which were delicious but if your not a seafood fan there are many other options. Main meals for us on different evenings consisted of Beef rump steak which was more like a fillet with mushrooms, peppercorn sauce & chunky homemade chips, Fish & chips with homemade tartare sauce, Duck & vegetables with mash if I remember correctly. Dessert was very nice too & there’s several options but I really struggled to eat dessert as the portions for starters & mains are more than sufficient. Overall the restaurant food & drinks are first class for a small establishment & the staff are so helpful & very friendly.
There’s many places to visit within easy reach too as it’s in area of outstanding natural beauty with the Morgan Motor Company nearby & Shelsley Walsh motorsports venue on the doorstep.
If you asked me would I visit this establishment again, I certainly would all the time as it’s absolutely brilliant in every department.
It receives a 10/10 from us.

We met up with my cousin and her husband for an evening meal. We shared some tempura vegetables as a starter with a bottle of Grillo wine which was like drinking honeyed sunshine. I opted for the vegan curry (although I am not vegan) and the others were tempted by the pies. My curry was full of flavour and perfectly cooked with just one thing missing from the menu description which I told our Spanish waiter about. My friend said the lamb pie was absolutely stuffed with a very tasty lamb in gravy and the combination of a hand raised pie made from puff pastry made it light to eat. The celeriac purée and tenderstem broccoli perfectly cooked. The butternut squash and Whittington Red cheese pies were also light and full of flavour and the cheese croquettes a triumph! Desserts didn’t let the side down either- my cousin had the cheeseboard and this came with enough cheese for two, plus fresh butter and some wonderfully flavoured crackers. I had the vegan brownie and this came with a red berry sauce and a strawberry sorbet, all very good. The sticky toffee pudding was huge and the ice cream also excellent, the panacotta came with shortbread and a perfectly balanced compote. The staff were attentive and helpful especially our very friendly ‘Man from Seville’ - I’m sorry we didn’t catch his name but he was very engaging as were the younger staff members who were smart and smiling.
As we settled the bill there was a discount for my curry as it wasn’t as described on the menu. This plus the perfect food, and other little touches, like a sprinkle of salt crystals on the butter, having our wine poured for us, made the experience one I want to repeat.
My cousin was staying in one of the new cabins and we had a look, it was spacious with a large shower room. The decor reflected the rural setting while feeling contemporary. They were very happy with it.

Very friendly bar staff and waitress. Made to feel very welcome. Went on a Wednesday to check out the £20 set 3 course menu but customers only pay £10 a head. Absolutely amazing home cooked food. Fresh cod , fresh haddock, to think people moan about the set menu when its all for £10, and its COVID-19 where pubs need our support. There was a choice of fish, seafood, meat and vegetarian options more than enough for most people paying £10 a head. So happy to see it fully booked when we visited. Keep up the great work! And your pastry chef is doing a great job, yummy puds ;-)

We visited here for an evening meal with our 1 year old. On arrival we ended up waiting 5-6 mins just to be greeted. After another 5 min we were shown to a table then another 10 mins we wear offered a menu. Another 5 mins and we wear asked if we would like a drink which took another 5 mins to arrive. The girls who served us I believed it to be her first night so we can give her some leeway to our service.
We were not offered a kids menu until we were about to order and we were told it was probably still a bit much for our baby.
When the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It was beautifully presented and tasted lovely top marks for the lovey food.
In conclusion it felt disorganised and that the staff weren’t sure what they were doing or where the food was supposed to be delivered to as I noticed multiple wrongly delivered orders. This was not just the new girl but all the staff. Food was lovely and I would like to eat here again just hope the team pulls together to make service a lot smoother.

We had a lovely mini break just before the restrictions were tightened again. We stayed in one of the outhouses which felt lovely and private. The shower is really nice and spacious. The view over the hills is beautiful and we got to see a beautiful sunrise. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious, reasonably priced and large portions. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had no complaints!

we stayed overnight en route south. The Admiral Rodney is in a lovely spot, very pretty countryside. We were shown to our room which was very spacious, but no view.
The room was nicely furnished but lacking in a few details which would have enhanced the stay considerably. I think for the price we paid, some basic touches were absent.
The bathroom was small but nicely done. A hook on the back of the door is needed for robes or towels, and there is nowhere to hang a toilet bag or place toiletries. There was a small shampoo and conditioner and small bar of soap.
The bedroom was spacious but furniture seemed to be in the wrong place. There was only one comfy chair and no chair or stool at the dressing table. If the dressing table was moved to opposite the bed(plenty of plug sockets) a sitting area for 2 chairs and even a small table , would have enhanced the room. To watch tv from the bed was not comfortable as it was a very nice wooden bedhead, but no cushions. There was no full length mirror and just a tiny standing mirror on the dressing table. The only decent sized mirror was over the sink in the bathroom.
There was a bit of noise from the other rooms, which is due to lack of soundproofing.
We had dinner that evening, which was very nice. we did sit in the upstairs bit of the dining room which had no atmosphere, but did enable us to talk privately to our guest.
Breakfast was taken next morning and was very tasty. The young inexperienced staff were doing their best, but would benefit from training or the presence of a manager. I think our opinion is that management should be in evidence for at least some of the time. The youngsters are willing but lack experience.
