It was a last minute booking, hotel and room was clean, nicely decorated, breakfast was good, good location and easy to find. We were traveling with a toddler and did not have any issues. I'd stay there again.
We had a generally enjoyable stay at this hotel, although they had mislaid our booking in spite of the fact that we have phoned from the UK a couple of weeks ahead which was not a good start, so we ended up having to pay for a more expensive room. The room was very clean and fairly comfortable, although the pillows are very flat and unsupportive. The food and wine was also very good, although there wasn't a huge amount of selection on the menu and the breakfast selection was extremely good. We had driven 8 hours from the UK and were looking forward to a quiet meal and a bottle of wine before bed. Unfortunately, this was not to be because the hostess apparently regards herself as some sort of singing sensation. Little did we know what we had let ourselves in for because before we had had time to finish our meal, we were regaled with a selection of somewhat out of tune, karaoke-style german folk Lieder and were a pretty much captive audience because the hostess was standing between the diners and the exit from the restaurant. There was no possibility of making a subtle exit. One set of canny fellow diners almost ran from the dining room during the very brief pause between sets. Unfortunately, we were unable to follow suit because we had gone on to the schnapps by this point as there was little else we could do. It was impossible even to hold a shouted conversation over the noise. At one point, the hostess mentioned that she had almost had a break on TV but that her father had put paid to that by telling her to follow him into hospitality rather than attempting a career in singing. A very wise piece of advice on his part, I must say. We'd like to visit again some time, but please do not sing at us ever again. Also, be warned that although the hotel states they will only take EC cards or cash, you can push them to take other credit or debit cards.…
This is a "typical" Hotel of the region, with lots of character and good facilities, including a heath centre and pool. However the last three times I've stayed there, the public facilities i.e. restaurant and bar have been closed. Additionally there have been no staff on at these times. I beleive these facilities are ONLY open when they have "tourist groups", which doesn't help other guests outside of these times. The rooms at the top are very small and airless. The rooms and suites on the first floor are much more ackin to what is expected of a Hotel of this category. Because of the lack of restaurant and bar I don't think I will stay there again, which is a shame as it really "could" be a very good hotel.
