We were privileged to attend our son's wedding at Thanda and consider the occasion to have been an "experience of a lifetime". We were accommodated at the Tented Camp site which was luxurious. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, particularly the guides and rangers who were obviously experts in their field. . The wedding was held "in the bush"...

So far it's been my only safari experience, and I would highly recommend it! Great for all ages. The service levels are high, guides are fantastic. The lodge is rustic-African but somehow still luxurious. Accommodations are superb. One morning after a rainy night, I could see "big-cat" footprints in the mud near my villa. Families of monkeys roam freely throughout...

Thank you for the wonderful review. Yes this is not the same as the Masai safaris as we do not have the open savannah like they have, we have a lot of bushes and trees making up our reserve. You were lucky to see the Big 5 as the Leopard is normally the one that remains elusive. We do focus...

Just spent 3 days on safari at Thanda, quite an experience. The accommodation is OUTSTANDING and probably the main reason to come here. Since it's a fenced private game reserve you are pretty much guaranteed to see the game, and the game is used to being seen, so you can get very close to everything - great for photos. One...

Thank you for your review. Our accommodation is a WOW! factor for all our guests. Although we are within the Thanda Private Game Reserve boundary , there is no guarantee that you will see the Big 5, however our great team of Guides and Trackers will do their best to show you them all. Our food is varied as we...

We spent three days at Thanda and were absolutely blown away. The experience begins as soon as you drive through the gates. You're met by your guide who takes you on the 25minute drive to the camp. The camp is beautifully designed and discreetly nestled into the bush. Even just walking to our tent we passed nyala. The Jabula tent...

Our family of four just spent 3 days at Thanda Reserve and it exceeded our expectations in every way! The game drives were amazing, led by our ranger Monet--who made the trip---his knowledge of nature and the animals made the experience that much more interesting-totally enjoyed the evening wine and morning coffee to end each game drive! The food, service,...

Thank you for your amazing review! Yes we are in a Big 5 reserve which is a 3 hour drive from Durban or 1 half hour drive from Richard's Bay. We stayed at the Thanda for 3 days. Our experience started the minute we drove though the gates. Our guide for the duration was there to greet us and we parked the car and were off to the lodge 15 minutes away. Pulling up to the lodge it was all that we could have dreamed of- beautiful location, amazing staff...

Thank you for the review. Thanda prides itself with service excellence and first class accommodation by being part of 'The Leading Hotels of the World" group. Thanda fulfilled all of my expectations. It was pricey, for sure, but was worth it. I now live half a world away from Zululand and this will be the last and final return trip I ever make. We came for only one night for Easter (unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and we couldn't stay longer). For the first time in a long while it actually made us sad to leave a hotel so quickly.
