Having stayed in many hotels over the years I have to say the service here was amazing. Sylvie and her team did a great job of looking after us and were so helpful in sorting things out for us when we couldn't get a taxi. The hotel for 2* is lovey, having been tastefully and sympathetically renovated. Our room was, large and airy with a comfy bed and great shower. The parking is secure and has easy access. Behind the hotel is a nice patio area where guests can sit and have a drink. There are ground floor rooms for the less able and the hotel is located close to the thermal baths in the centre of town. The restaurant menu looked varied and good value though we didn't get an opportunity to try, but will next time we visit.

This is a lovely traditional French hotel with a warm welcome and everything you need for a stop over.

Rooms are comfortable- if possible ask for a ground floor room as you also get a nice sitting out area. Noisy air con but you really don’t need it at night and fans are provided. Decent bathrooms with a good shower and good sized towels.

The restaurant was excellent- traditional cooking and great value at €24 for a 3 course menu. I had gravalax, confit duck and chocolate fondant ( all really tasty) and my wife had Charente melon with prosciutto, steak and fromage blanc . A well priced wine list with all bottles also available by the glass and carafe made for a lovely evening in the open sided restaurant. Breakfast the next day was a generous offering of baguette and croissant.

Easy parking on site if you arrive before 7PM as well.

And our dog was welcomed as well- perfect.

Well managed establishment focused above all on customer satisfaction. Very clean hotel and catering with excellent value for money. it also benefits from free private parking and accepts dogs (at a slight cost)

We visited because it was near an area we wished to visit - the estuary of the river Seudre. It was en route to the Gironde where we had taken a gite for 10 days before moving on. The local market on Saturday was small but together with purchases from the covered market set us up for the next three days.

Good morning,
After a non-warm welcome from the hotel manager and two other recommendations from him,
I think that this person does not accept groups, in a way of speaking when he is not in a comfortable management and takes a certain attitude to the fact that he alone is right,
very bad manner towards us and reprimand before seeing that we are responsible people and that their attitude towards us was not justified.
We had an excellent night, and we left without having breakfast so as not to disturb our wife which reflects the dejected state of her husband.
Best regards
Eric Coutant

PS: a dissatisfied customer who will not return to this establishment.

A very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and welcoming staff.

Our room had full ensuite facilities, flat screen TV and free wifi.

We stayed in August at which time meals were served on a large and attractive outside terrace. The food was fantastic, with a choice of fixed menus and extensive a la carte options.

The hotel has a secure parking area which is locked at night.

I would highly recommend this hotel for its warmth, comfort, food, cleanliness and value.

Saujon is a pleasant small town with a picturesque inland Port and is a 20 minute drive from Royan and the coast.

Stopped overnight here on the way home from holiday. Absolutely lovely hotel. Food was excellent, rooms very clean and comfortable, and the owners were charming. Be careful to get the door code if you're going out for a walk in the evening, though! Very likely to stay again next year.

We had a one night stopover on a journey from the South of France back to Brittany.
Hotel was very welcoming, room was spotlessly clean, bed comfy, but the bathroom especially shower very small and the separate toilet extremely tight. However the good news was the restaurant, which was really fantastic--the food was beautifully cooked and the presentation was really high standard and stylish, generous portions and so reasonably priced we could hardly believe the bill!!!! Breakfast again was very generous with lots of choice, including cereals and cheese and ham slices, as well as breads and pastries jams etc. and again very well priced.
We will certainly stay again.

I had a ground floor room which was brilliant, with a table and chairs outside. The staff could not have been nicer and were exceptionally helpful. The car did go through the barn doors to the rear car park ( Audi A6!) so don't be nervous, just go for it. Breakfast was nice and the little village is really lovely for a couple of days stay.

We only used the Restaurant as we were staying just outside Saujon in a great place called SENATHE at St Romain de Benet which is a B&B, so evening meals were necessary.
The Le Commerce was recommended by family and we made up a party of 11 diners. The restaurant offered a wide range of set menues and I tried the 15 Euro meal.
Great vegetable soup was followed by steak & chips and the pudding was Crème Brule. Others had sea food, and fancy puds. All were enjoyed although some thought the accompanying elements were bland
