Mirroring many previous reviews here this hotel has friendly and helpful staff, and good facilities that include a music themed bar with a motorcycle parked at the door and a decent pool table. The hotel is set in the historic village of Nago, vineyards and rocky outcrops abound. The hotel provides 3 daily rides to Torbole and the bus stop with buses to Riva is a 2 minute walk around the corner (only about 1.30 euros one way). We used the buses as a walk to Riva is too long a distance for most. The pool is a short walk around the back of the main hotel and is set in olive trees with a small bar selling drinks and toilet facilities. The restaurant is modern and clean and they do free coffee and cake at 4pm daily. The room we had over looked the bar area and was of an adequate size with a balcony that over looked the hills and Nago. The rooms around the back looking on to the pool might be quieter but we found it ok as regards any noise. We would recommend this hotel.…
Just returned from one week stay at the Continental, travelling on a package tour with Newmarket Holidays. The transfers (arrival and departure) were seemless and our room very stylish in typically Italian white styling. Not a huge room, but it felt very comfortable after a day and all rooms have balconies. A decent, firm memory foam mattress on slates helped towards a good night's sleep. The hotel is exactly as the photos. All staff are welcoming, friendly and professional, very smart but with just the right amount of formal friendliness and all multilingual. It was a lovely overall experience staying at The Continental. Nago is a very old village and with a little modern development where the hotel stands, but quiet at night. The hotel is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and orchards, mountain views and is very lush. Nago is in a valley above Torbole on Lake Garda, reached in a few minutes using the free 3 x daily hotel out/return shuttle bus, buses (bus stop close to hotel) or about 45 - 60 minutes Walk depending on which path you select. We found Lake Garda to be busy like our Lake District, - traffic, with lots of people, crowds at peak times and lots of noise, it is still quite buzzing in the evenings, so it was nice to return to The Continental for some peace and quiet after a day out. The welcoming complimentary coffee, tea and cakes at 4pm daily and ad hoc complimentary appertifs or wine tasting were all so enjoyable and relaxed and made it a hotel of choice for adults. We borrowed two cycles for the day complete with helmets and padlock, even the cycles, garage/bike store area is 4* standard so clean and tidy. The food is very good, be prepared to put on a few pounds, it all and very attentive service. Breakfast is an extensive buffet, with lots off lovely breads, fruits, meats cheeses, yogurts, boiled eggs, cooked breakfasts and quality coffee/teas that nice and hot. Our stay surpassed our expectations. Just lovely.…
Beautiful hotel in rural setting in nago above town of torbole. Stayed before and couldn't wait to return. Spotless, bright rooms set into mountainside. All staff lovely food gorgeous. Pool garden set at back of main hotel so relaxing. Handy shuttle down the hill 3 times a day. But a scenic walk if your upto it. Choose if you want quiet setting yet close to bus stops to visit other lake towns ie Riva del garda 10 mins on bus.
What can we say that hasn't already been said. The moment we arrived, the staff could not do enough. The food was tasty and plentiful and the facilities excellent. The location of the hotel is a few minutes drive from the lake with the courtesy bus provided by the hotel 3 times a day. There is also a bus stop just along the road which takes you to various interesting places and easy to use. The hotel offers many complimentary services, from local guided walks with cheese and wine lunch to yoga and aqua-fit classes as well as the delicious afternoon tea. The outside pool area is tranquil with plenty of sunbeds and beautiful surroundings. We would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to visit again should we go back to Lake Garda.
The bar of the hotel is a little gem, Michelangelo and Mattia are very professional, always smiling and happy to help. Michelangelo’s knowledge about cocktails is immense. He is always happy to suggest the right cocktail and never gets it wrong!!!
