#6 of 29 B&Bs / Inns in Noci
We are proud to provide a better level of hospitality: supremely comfortable rooms and a breakfast to delight the most discerning palates, with many home made products like jams, cakes etc. (also in special version for lactose and gluten intolerance, and vegans) And there's more. Podere Papilio offers the magic of total relaxation, a place where you can unwind, regain your inner harmony and remember, for once, that we too are part of Nature. We're situated halfway between the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas; after a trip of about half an hour you can be relaxing on the Ionian's beautiful beaches. Podere Papilio enjoys a number of cool breezes which create an extraordinary microclimate. The colour of the sky is a sign of the pure, clean air here: intense blue, and spectacular dawns and sunsets. Look around you and your eye sweeps for miles to the horizon in all directions with nothing to interrupt the view, bar woods or stretches of higher ground.

This charming B&B can be found down a meandering road. It has three rooms which all have a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. It is perfectly logistically located to explore the famous villages of Puglia. Only a few mins to Alberobello and Noci, fifteen min to Locorotondo. There is a small table and chairs outside each room to savor this charming area. Each room is carefully decorated. The heating in the bathroom is on a timer which is efficient and simple and reflects the hosts (Liliana and Daniele) concern about the environment. The room has tea and coffee making facilities. There isn’t a fridge but an esky that can be plugged in to keep things cool. Unfortunately we found this was a little noisy so we chose not to use it. The bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. It was immaculately cleaned and tidied every day. Breakfast is a feast for the senses. Daniele baked a different cake each day and nothing was too much trouble for the couple. The table was set with fresh cheeses, sliced meats, fresh breads, individually prepared fruit salads, juices and eggs. There were also home made preserves and locally sourced honey. We were thoroughly spoilt. Breakfast took place in a Trulli which is part of their home. It was beautifully decorated. We thoroughly recommend this B&B and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We were delighted to enjoy the sincere hospitality of hosts Daniele and Liliana at Podere Papilio for 7 nights. The breakfasts were copious with the table beautifully set. Daniele succeeded in making a different cake daily and we delighted in them all. The problem was that there was so much to eat it was hard to find room for the cake, but we did. Liliana is so gracious and she provided brochures and many ideas of places to eat and visit. One delight was a visit to a farm where Cosimo and his mother made cheese and then served a beautiful lunch under a tree in the lovely landscape. We also visited a Zoo Safari in Fasano, a must to see! The animals roam free while people drive through in their cars. One giraffe, of many there, even licked our window which, naturally, was closed. There are many other little towns fo visit and many Trulli, the typical home of the area, to see. Daniele and Liliana's house is about 200 years old and they completely reconstructed it. It is charming! This place and area were a highlight of our trip. Our hosts also recommended a number of very good restaurants! We went back to one in Noci two times to enjoy their unending antipasto. Share one for two people. The restaurant is L'Antico Locando.

Podere Papilio is a bit tough to find but once you're there you won't be disappointed. Daniele and Liliana are some of the most warm-hearted and welcoming folk you could meet. The property and the surrounding is nice, the rooms clean and there's ample parking. Breakfast is amazing, everything's organic and locally sourced. There's so much food and even a home made cake! It's a bit further outside of Alberobello (only a 5-10 mins drive) so it's better value than some of the places in the town but the real magic is chatting to Daniele and Liliana. It was a great stay and we'd love to come back. Stefanie and Martin

Really enjoyable stay at Podere Papilio during May 2017. The hosts were really friendly and breakfasts were as good as it gets with home produced and local products where possible. The B&B is in the countryside about 3 or 4 miles (didn't check mileage) from Alberobello.

The hosts Liliana and Daniele are extremely nice and welcoming. The room is elegantly decorated in a classic country side style and the hosts have prepared a booklet for the guests with suggestions for restaurants in the towns nearby as well as for activities in the area. Liliana even gave us some suggestions on what places to visit nearby. The room has a beautiful view over the garden with a little terrace and a direct view where the sun sets. The bathroom is modern and spotless. As the hosts define this place as a B&B, breakfast has to be mentioned: it is a no miss! All is home made and ridiculously good. Located in the middle of the country side with a stunning view over fields and olive trees, this property is a very relaxing place to stay. Simple yet elegant, in one word: perfect.
