Caroline has transformed this big house into a charming African Colonial experience. We chose it because it seemed to offer very good value for money, but it easily exceeded our expectations. The house is spacious, light and airy with very fine furnishings and decor. There is a big lounge, a large dining room and a relaxing patio that opens out onto a well laid out garden with a large pool, and there are many little hideaway tables and chairs where you can sit in peace in the garden if you don't feel like socialising. Caroline is a friendly, hospitable and entertaining hostess. The lodge is located just a few kms from Midmar Dam and is the perfect base for the many sporting events that get hosted there. We enjoyed our stay at Harrow Hill very much and will definitely return.

Caroline has such exquisite taste which it is evident in how beautifully she has decorated every room and the public areas in her new location in Doveton Place. It's like an English Country home in the KzN Midlands. A charming hostess -she really makes you feel at home. And excellent value-for-money.

Caroline is always a charming hostess and we have now stayed with her three times. Twice up the Karkloof road and now that she has moved into Doveton Place, the bed and breakfast is even more charming and convenient. Beautiful comfortable room with lovely view of the garden.

If you are an antique lover, you will be blown away by the exquisite antiques at Harrow Hill. Wonderful rooms, tastefully decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Caroline is an excellent, charming hostess and have valuable information on sights to see and places to eat. Phillipina cooks a scrumptious breakfast and after 3 weeks of traveling, we were very happy that she does laundry as well. If you need a place to stay in Howick, Harrow Hill should be top of your list.
