Hotel with 19th century air. Rather dark room and not very comfortable pillows. Close to the castle where Xabier himself (Ignatius of Loyola's "disciple") was born. Spacious parking and then a walk of some 100 metres to the hotel closest to the castle. Today this place seemed without real life - I guess because it is not located in a...

My wife and I travel regularly throughout southern Europe, staying in hotels 45 to 60 nights each year. The last two weeks of June we had the pleasure to stay at Hotel Xabier in Javier, Navarra, Spain. The room was ample, not too recently updated, but well furnished, ample in size and comfortable. The natural beauty of the parks and...

Staff were not very welcoming - all booking in a large group. Eventually shown into a gloomy room for a coffee and cake. Cake selection was attractive, however, both choices were stale. The area was a little tatty.

This is a special place if you are interested in religious history. The hotel is metres from the the birthplace of St Francis Xavier. Set in a rural location, we found ours was a noisy experience for such a quiet place. Our room was at the front of the hotel on the first floor and we could clearly hear the...

if you are interested at all in religious history, then this, the birthplace of St Francis Xavier, will suit you well as being a convenient and pleasant stopping place. The basilica of the Saint is nearby and full of atmosphere. We have not been in the area for a little while, but our memory of this nice hotel is of...

I'll be honest. This place was a discovery for me. I intended to spend the night in Sangûesa and thanks that it was the local city festivals, no room availlable so I was told about this hotel 10 kilometers from Sanguesa city. I spend a FABULOUS time here. Staff is professionally friendly, the interesting Xabier Castle is 100 meters in...

This hotel was great - we'll probably in 1968 - because not much has been done since If you want a coffee in a chipped cup or a drink in a chipped glass this hotel will suit you. The decor is at best tired, a beautiful classic room painted with sky blue dirty and tired paint Location is right next...

We have just come back from a weekend in Navarre, staying at the Xabier hotel. The reason we chose this hotel was that we had heard that it was good value for money and also it is a good base to visit towns like Sos del Rey Catolico, Sanguesa and also the gorge at Lumbier. The staff cannot be faulted,...

We had read reports of a "3 star hotel that is more like 5 star" but were disappointed by the tired-looking room and bathroom, clearly in need of refurbishment. On the plus side, the staff were helpful and friendly and we had the best G&Ts of the holiday served in the salon before dinner, which was a good meal. Breakfast...

The location of this hotel could not be better and it was clean, but we had no hot water for showers in the morning. We asked around at breakfast and everyone we asked in our group had a similar problem.....although some had "room temperature" water, no one had a "warm" shower. We did not get the wakeup call that we...
