Had a great one night stay here the night of September 3rd, 2020 with my husband and our 8 year old son. The grounds were very well kept, with help from the robot lawnmower named Lambchop. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature- loved that it was saltwater.
We were assigned room #3 and found it very clean and comfortable. Note, there’s only a shower, no bath.
Wine glasses and water glasses were provided, but I didn’t find coffee mugs to go with the fancy machine and Starbucks pods. I easily found mugs after a short search in the communal kitchen on the ground level.
When reserving a few months ago, Roger asked that I call the day before arrival and he’d have an inflatable mattress ready for our son, which he did.
The complimentary wine tasting nightly at 5pm was an unexpected treat and allowed the opportunity to meet our fellow guests. The wines were very tasty!
We went for a walk to the river and could have spent hours there enjoying the serenity.
I wasn’t expecting breakfast, so was pleasantly surprised. Offerings included fresh local fruit (blueberries, peaches, plums and pears), a selection of cereal, yogurt, Baby Bell and Laughing Cow cheeses, plus bread, bagels, juice and coffee.
The resident dog and cat were super cute.
I’d love to visit again.

Very welcoming host (Roger). The grounds are well kept and the rooms were very nice. The place is far enough from the highway (down sumac Rd) that you wouldn't hear highway noise.

Bikeable to the cawston wineries but there are some hills.

It's a few hundred meter walk down to the river. They have kayaks that you can borrow, and during non covid times they can take you upriver in a truck/trailer and let you float down the river. (Since this is temporarily not available, I paddled upriver and dragged the kayak around/through some tiny rapids, and then went back down. This was fun but a lot more work.)

Forbidden fruits winery is also very close to similkameen Wild and has great fruit based wines.

The pool, grounds, rooms and hospitality are great and I would highly recommend.

Spent 2 days relaxing at the retreat. From the personal checkin to the moment of departure, Roger and his team make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The location is perfect for a quiet time but with activities close by if so desired. The King suite is very nicely decorated and has everything you need to relax. The private back balcony is a wonderful place to watch the sun drop behind the mountains while enjoying some great BC wines. The salt water pool is large and has lots of room to spread out.
You will not be disappointed if you are able to get a reservation, so book early!

Roger, the owner was rude, disrespectful and just plain unkind. When we decided to stay 2 nights instead of 3, he told all the guests during a wine tasting that I only wanted to stay 2 nights. Then during another wine tasting, guests pointed out a wasp nest and moments later I was stung on the foot. He laughed it off and continued to talk about his wine. He told us about the rooms having thin walls and then proceeded to do dishes and make a great deal of noise at 11:30pm in the room next to ours.

Some girlfriends and I stayed here just this past weekend to celebrate our friend getting married:)
Truly a beautiful place. The host Roger was absolutely lovely and easy to talk to. He did a great wine tasting with us and periodically checked in on us to make sure the guests were comfortable but otherwise let us be which was excellent. The space was stunning, the salt water pool was perfection and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our own dinners. We felt so welcome and at home. Cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to return.

Sandra was a first class hostess with much knowledge about the area . The teepee and room were clean with modern upgrades ! No better place to cool down than the salt water pool . We chose to bring our own food, the BBQ was ready to use and the industrial sized kitchen was a joy to prepare in. Fresh fruits , coffee , cereal , and toast was available for breakfast . If you are looking for more of a individual experience that’s not like your typical stay in a hotel . This little gem tucked away in the vineyard was nothing short of fabulous. I’ll be back !

From the food (great assortment of breakfast goodies - all fresh & delicious & locally sourced) to the backdrop of beautiful mountains, a peaceful/clean river and amazingly luscious plants & flowers everywhere you look, this place is a little slice of heaven.

Roger and Christine take wonderful care of their home and land and share their love of all of it with you.

Wine was a rather delicious & unexpected. touch. ;). Ditto the hot tub. Ditto the young deer sauntering in the vineyard on our way out.

If you want something a little different, sleep in the teepee. As all rooms were sold out, that was my home for 3 nights. There is nothing quite like hearing the wild wind rattling your walls while you fall off to sleep. I felt like I was in a dream.

Highly recommended.

I had a beautiful and relaxing experience with friends at Similkameen Wild in late July 2020. The team is very accomodating and engaging. The facility was top notch, in particular the pool, hot tub, outdoor bbq and kitchen areas. Walk to and swimming in the river was a breathtaking experience. Winery tour and tasting was another hilghlight. Great credit to the team for all that they have created for their guests, and their accomodating nature. I look forward to returning.

Our stay at Similkameen Wild was so restful. The resort is very peaceful, with beautiful gardens and clean comfortable accommodation. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evening as well as walks along the river. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you are very comfortable.

We booked this spot for mid July but were unable to use our booking due to COVID. We were able to utilize the one night stay October 20/2022 instead. We loved it. QUIET, great owners and Candace was amazing as the coordinator. We will be returning for certain. My husband loves their red wine.
