Detailed Reviews
Nice clean room. Friendly manager. Decor was a bit outdated but not an issue as still in good condition. The room was reasonably priced at $122/night.
Firm Queen bed with soft pillows. No traffic noises.
Room included a small fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, glasses, plates, coffee mugs and cutlery - all clean and in good condition.
Had a television, fan, aircon and good lighting - Multiple independent light sources including lights aimed at the table, down lights over the bed, lights for the whole room, and lights over the mirrors (good for makeup).
Each motel room has designated parking directly in front of the room. Enclosed car park with access via the front reception so seemed safe.
Nice small town with an IGA (and deli), fish and chip shop, chinese and pub. Good location only 30 minutes to Singleton and many local wineries nearby.
Bathrooms are currently being renovated to have new tiles and updated vanities and taps. Rooms 1-6 complete (31/01/2020) with the others to be done in the next few weeks.
Overall: Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Well kept, very clean and well maintained complex. Bedding is comfortable, air conditioning works well and blockout curtains. Renovated bathroom. Although building itself is older this is a very well kept establishment. Manager is extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs. Convenient location just a short drive to the Hunter wineries without having the price tag of staying directly in the Hunter. Has local pub with takeaway option, supermarket, bakery, bottleshop, takeaway etc all within walking distance. Flat screen TV although could do with a larger one. Mini bar stocked with small supplies. Complimentary tioleties and coffee/tea. Serviced daily. No complaints.

Very clean, well maintained, room quiet with black out curtains, comfortable beds, conveniently located to an IGA/pub, friendly proprietor. Ample tea/coffee & toiletries in rooms. Would definitely return.

Booked the motel in March 2022 for a discounted rate with Booking.com.
Upon arrival we were informed the booking was cancelled even though we had the confirmation from Booking.com. The male receptionist was rude and was more concerned with the correct price being $220 a night and not what they set with Booking.com. six months earlier. After showing him the confirmation and that they confirmed the day before and that we could arrive earlier than 2pm as we had a wedding to go to. Nothing more disappointing than having to change on the side of the road fro a wedding.

We stayed at Branxton House Motel from the 23rd to the 26th December (3 nights) to spend Christmas with family and paid nearly $500. We had to pay $300 on booking and the rest before we even saw our room. The room was nice and clean, but there was no room service after booking in. There was no milk in the room and only one towel and we had to go to the office them. We ran out of tea, coffee and milk on the morning of day 2, and only had a little bar of soap each to last us 3 hot days. Because of the heat we were having several showers a day and had to use the same damp towels, although they did dry overnight. Luckily there was a supermarket across the road so we were able to buy our own tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The office was closed on the 24th, 25th and 26th. We had to make the beds and take our rubbish/newspapers etc with us to dispose of. I understand that at this time of the year we can expect a slight restriction on service but it you are going to charge as much as this, some service would have been nice. The least they could have done is say they were going away for a few days and stocked up the room to accommodate accordingly.

Response from hunterroad, Owner at Branxton House Motel

We are terribly sorry for your unhappy experience in Branxton! For long stay guests during weekend and public holidays, room service on request by simply flip on "please make up my room" on the door, to give guests plenty of privacy. Problem is our staff probably forgot to mention to you. And our reception is open everyday all year round, only Christmas time with limited hours. But telephone service still 24/7. We are sorry again for all those confusion caused problems. We will definitely look into these issues to make sure every guest is happy! Thanks again for your time to share your experience with us!

Small family-run (??) motel. Were up in the area for a family occasion. Stayed overnight at the motel. Room was clean. Air-con nice and cool. Clean linen. Fresh towels. Free WiFi for the tech heads. We had to leave early so we didn't get a chance to sample the breakfast. Would stay again if in the area.

I stayed at the Branxton Motel on January 21st 2014 , I was doing shows in Singelton and Maitland the next day.
I didnt pre book accommodation as I usually do for my show trips and got caught out with nothing avaliable in singleton or surrounds.
I headed to Branxton with a view to staying in cessnock which i knew had vacancies. i stumbled upon the Branxton House Motel and decided to stay as it was close to Singleton.
Steven the host and owner was fantastic, helpful and couteous .
the Room was great , big , clean , great TV and comfy bed .
also had FREE wifi which is a necessity for me when Im touring.
the rate was cheap and the room a delight to relax , had great aircon and shower.
the Hunter valley has become a Repository for Mining types , they are like the plague everywhere
you go they are eating sleeping and using every facility in Locust like fashion.
Dont worry about singleton , stay in Branxton , super close and not infested with miners and their trucks.
the Branxton Motel is very central to the hunter with the mining plague .
totally recommend this Motel

Our room was clean and bed comfortable. Because we came to Branxton for the annual Opera in the Vineyard at Wyndham Estate, we paid $125.00 more than usual:- $375.00 for minimum 2 night stay. This is a blatant rip-off on the part of Branxton House Motel, which does very nicely all the time being in a mining area. I booked in March 2012 paid 50%deposit,the balanceupon check-in.In March I requested a room at the rear, knowing the motel is on the very busy New England Hwy. We were given a room at the front and even with the double glazing found it very noisy. The manager moved us to another rear room next day. When I asked why we did not get the promised rear room both nights was told that 'people setting up opera stage had those rear rooms.' So workers at Wyndham Est. were given preference over interstate guests!!. A DVD player WAS supplied at prior request. Housekeeping very good, though we had to ask diffident manager for a 2nd. towel. The rear room used for 1 mine employee normally. Value:$125p/n.NOT $187.50!!!!!

What a great little motel! On check-in, we were escorted by the owner to our room. She showed us how we had to insert our key into a slot to make the power work, explained how to work the air conditioner (& boy did we need that!!) and brought us a jug of fresh milk. Our twin room had the following:
queen bed
single bed
bedside tables
table with 2 chairs
desk type arrangement with desk level double power point
TV
tea/coffee making facilities
cane chair
fantastic lighting
very clean modern bathroom
hairdryer
I think this motel had the best lighting I’ve ever seen in a motel room. Usually rooms are dim and dark. This one had 2 main lights in the room plus a fluorescent light over the desk area. The reading lamps for the beds were downlights and very bright! Excellent!
The bathroom was very clean and modern. The only problem I found was that you could see yourself showering. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s not something I want to see first thing in the morning.
We ordered breakfast and it came at the right time, delivered by the owner (she is one busy woman!). My daughter had a croissant with egg/bacon/cheese and it was very good. Gotta love country style breakfast.
I would stay here again and highly recommend this motel.

I booked this motel 5 months before and chose due to free wifi and proximity to Bimbadgen for a concert.
The wifi did not reach the room despite staff saying it would I complained but they could not change us as now booked out. The toilet constantly run then filled up. The room was clean but very dated. Disappointed with this motel wouldn’t stay again. Across the road decent pub for meals. Not much else in this area
